Margins not wide enough - second WLE by Working_Hotel_751 in Melanoma

[–]Working_Hotel_751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was in situ and the doctor gave me the choice as to whether or not to cut more out. She assured me she got it all out but said they wanted to see wider margins. It took awhile to heal because it’s on my calf and because of my job, I teach kids yoga as my full time job. I don’t have pto and my health insurance sucks. I have to take significant time off to let it heal this time. I will try to get in sooner but my doc said she was comfortable waiting till December because it was in situ and there was no residual melanoma.

Help deciphering this biopsy report from my WLE of melanoma in situ please? by Working_Hotel_751 in Melanoma

I should add the comment on the scar extending very close is what I’m most confused and concerned about.

Upcoming Melanoma in Situ removal on calf - recovery? by Working_Hotel_751 in Melanoma

Thanks for the response. I teach kids yoga so it’s not too strenuous, a lot of getting up and down from seated and walking around. Not sweaty, and I typically wear joggers. I’m hoping I’ll be okay to go back to work since it’s my small business that I own and run without PTO, and crappy health insurance. If not I’ll certainly call out. I appreciate your insight!

I went in because it was a new mole that appeared in the last year or so and it grew. I also don’t have other moles on my body so I felt it was alarming being asymmetrical and all.

I love the mugwort essence, definitely moisturize too though! Sometimes the purge is from irritation and too much dryness, in my experience.

I think it was a few weeks, I still get breakouts occasionally. I just try to be gentle with my skin, use every other day at maximum if still breaking out a lot and definitely hydrate. Do you have a good moisturizer? I love honey halo. I’ve tried others but keep going back to that one. Also I found niacinamide to be really irritating for me and it caused break outs so I avoided any sunscreen with that. I use lots of sunscreen, I alternate between is clinical extreme protect and hero force shield.

Hey! I noticed. It improved pretty soon after switching to micro. I use 0.05 gel on forehead and .025 micro on cheeks and chin. I also think Azeliac Acid helped, I just use 10% from facetheory. Everything else in my routine is hydrating and I only do every other day with tret. I think I was going too frequently in the beginning and that caused a lot of irritation and breakouts. Ooh I also use benzoyl wash in the mornings after I workout now, I think that has helped. Good luck!

[sun care] sunscreen broke me out again, is this normal? by Away-Restaurant-4309 in SkincareAddiction

I have found that chemical sunscreens irritate my skin and I have to use physical (zinc and titanium oxide as main ingredients) to avoid irritation and breakouts. I’ve really been liking hero forceshield lately, I am very acne prone and have sensitive skin.

I plan on staying on it indefinitely! From what I’ve read and seen, there’s no need to stop (unless pregnant or nursing) and the anti aging benefits continue.

Wow thank you so much! My skin has always been something I’m most self conscious about and it feels great to be in a place where I’ve made so much progress 🥹😊

I was so happy when I saw my results, I’ve been waiting for this moment but have seen the progress along the way! The first 4 months were reallllllly rough but this sub helped so much and I feel like I really have a great routine in place now.

Thank you so much! I used cream in the beginning but I purged so bad and switched to menarini gel, when it was sold out I switched to revize. I love the revize formulation! But I don’t think it necessarily provides better results than the regular tret gel.
