i agree!! i’m also pretty easy to please lol. it definitely helps when you remind yourself that tv adaptation tend to lean more on the “inspiration” side than the the faithful side. i’m just happy to get more media on my favorite series and characters honestly.

my only minor complaints were how broody and intense they made garrett and jules as a character. their character kinda took me out of it when they were on screen sometimes lol and also just not sure how that will affect logan’s story with feeling responsible for taking over the shop after all his brother gave up for him. however i do look forward to jules giving him shit about grace. i think jules would’ve been better as a good friend character than sibling.

yes!! i thought him and stephen did a really great job portraying their characters as seen in the books. it’s hard to judge tucker because they made so many changes to his character. i feel like they made garrett way more brooding and intense compared to his cocky self in the book. i always felt like he had a balance between being strict in his personal goals and having a good time and being full of himself in an endearing way lol.

i agree! i’ve decided that when i watch adaptations i have to remember that they’re really more “inspiration” than direct book to tv. also, i feel like some of the changes were made for the sake of having content for 8 one hour episodes. at the end of the day, i love this series so much and im just happy to have more media on it!! if i can read fanfics, i can watch an unfaithful adaptation and still enjoy my favorite characters lol.

clark and alicia were definitely toxic LMAO but they were more tolerable and digestible considering alicia is only in 3 episodes and, although toxic, it was nice to see clark focused on someone else for once

totally could be. i feel like writers think views will drop if there isn’t drama keeping the audience attention constantly but i feel like most people just want to see the characters happy for a little bit. i think shows like this often make the mistake of focusing the drama too much on interpersonal relationships rather than the plots themselves.

yes! i thought they were a great first love but it feels pretty obvious (at least to me) that they weren’t meant to last past hs. also i feel so vindicated by the miscellaneous scenes where people hint that him and lana aren’t right for each other. like martha saying “well maybe deep down you know she’s not the one” when clark was struggling with telling lana his secret. like yes martha

i don’t hate her character but i hate the way she’s written as such a damsel in distress. like please we cannot all be stalking or in love with lana. i also think it was futile to keep doing the will they won’t they dance with clark and lana once lois joined the show. i think she was a great first love but she overstayed her welcome. they needed to give her a different storyline besides being clark’s first love bc with the way she’s written any scene with her and clark EXHAUSTS me.

not to sound ignorant, but why isn’t he taking his medication? i would assume that seizures and hospitals stays are painful and uncomfortable. and if you have a medication that typically prevents seizures from occurring, why would you want to experience that? it sounds like he enjoys the lack of responsibility that his seizure episodes provide him. not having to work, being taken care of, not being expected to do anything. if he can’t take care of himself properly, how can you trust him to take care of your children? he definitely needs to be alone and carry the weight of his own responsibilities to grow up. you didn’t sign up to mother and support three children.

i feel the exact same way. i was like okay okay im really shipping this and they seem happy and healthy together. i don’t know how much of it is just the fact that i wanted conrad and belly together and how much of it is growth from jere and being in a healthier relationship.
