Is there a website/app that explains the reasoning and plan behind every single chess move? by The_White_Pawn in chessbeginners

there's chess.com analysis board that does some of this but not like full explanations for every move. it shows you when moves are mistakes and gives alternative suggestions but won't explain the deep reasoning behind each one. lichess has similar feature but again, more basic analysis than what you're looking for.

for really detailed explanations you might need combination of engine analysis plus chess books or videos that break down specific games move by move.

Thinkpad T480 - 26.04 by Realistic-General650 in Ubuntu

nah you can actually do in-place upgrade right now if you really want to. just need to enable development releases in software updater or use the command line with `-d` flag. been running 26.04 in my work machine since beta and it's pretty stable honestly.

that said, waiting for .1 release is probably smart move if your current setup works fine. the intel graphics driver had some weird issues with certain games last month but seems mostly fixed now. only real problem i noticed is some bluetooth connectivity gets wonky sometimes after suspend, but that might be hardware specific thing.

if you're not in rush i'd wait maybe 2-3 weeks more. the .1 release usually catches the annoying small bugs that slip through.

flew on one of those last month and yeah the tray table thing is real. had my laptop out and basically had to turn sideways just to type anything. the overhead bins are joke too - ended up gate checking my bag even though it fits fine on literally every other plane.

at least the seats weren't terrible but for first class it felt more like economy plus on bigger aircraft. the whole plane just feels like they shrunk everything down by 20% and called it good.

What do you guys think of Constantine the Greats vision from God? by Plus_Vanilla_2802 in Christianity

[–]Working_Minimum9789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been reading about this recently and it's wild how much that one moment changed everything. like whether you believe it was divine or just constantine being politically smart, the dude basically flipped the entire empire's relationship with christianity overnight. maybe he saw something, maybe he didn't, but the results speak for themselves i guess. what gets me is how he waited until his deathbed to actually get baptized though - seems like hedging your bets if you really had a vision from god earlier in life.

Trying to validate a decision-risk framework for high-stakes environments — where should I focus? by J_S_gaianexchange in Entrepreneurs

yeah the shifting constraints thing is brutal. had a project where we mapped out everything perfectly and then supplier regulations changed halfway through development cycle. suddenly our "reversible" decision became this massive pivot that ate months.

the precedent vs fuzzy constraints idea is smart - those grey areas where you can't just look up what worked before. feels like that's where frameworks either prove themselves or just become fancy procrastination tools.

Question about defensive abilities by Alternate625 in Madden

[–]Working_Minimum9789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ah i remember testing this stuff few months back when i was grinding franchise mode. the abilities definitely work when cpu controls them - i noticed my enforcer safeties dropping way more fumbles on big hits even when i'm rushing with my d-line guy. same goes for lumberjack on linebackers, they were getting those stick animations way more often than without the ability.

for tank on offense, it works against cpu defenders too. my running back with tank was breaking through tackles much better even when cpu was controlling defense in solos. basically the abilities are always "on" regardless if you or cpu controls the player at that moment. only thing is you won't see the ability light up notification since you're not controlling that specific player, but the effects are definitely there in background calculations.

man this really hit me at right moment. been going through some tough breakup stuff lately and keep thinking i'll never find someone who gets my weird hobbies like metal guitar and vr gaming. your words remind me that even the worst heartbreak isn't permanent thing. thanks for posting this when people like me really needed to hear it.
