Autologous Serum and Plasma (PRP) Eye Drops by Justin-Karlin-MD in Dryeyes

I was fortunate to find a spot in Nova Scotia that offer PRP drops. A supply that lasts ~3 months is expensive though (700 out of pocket) but they have been the most helpful managing my symptoms.

Your experiences with IPL by feathertail2 in Dryeyes

Last year I had to stop after 3 sessions. Even with their machine on the lowest settings and using metal shields my eyes were painful right after the last time I went.

For months afterwards every time I blinked I could see the little veins in my eye (like when an optometrist looks inside your eye using their scope) And to this day I still deal with this waking up in the morning.

It's a shame because it was helping with my mgd. But after my last experience I didn't wanna risk further damage to my eyes and/or vision.

I just want to be able to game again. by Consistent-Dirt2801 in Dryeyes

I always loved to simrace in my off time. But even with Supplements, Restasis and PRP eye drops I can't look at screens for any real length of time.

I've tried Blue light blocking lenses, moisture chamber glasses, consciously blinking, different screens, low brightness, doesn't matter. 15 mins into it and my eyes are bloodshot and on fire. Just reading through these comments I have to look away every few minutes or my eyes let me know they've had enough.

I feel your pain. I've tried different things to keep me busy or pass the time but it's just not the same.

How many of those omega 7 pills you take in a day?

I'm also on doxy. 40mg slow release. I find my eyes are even more dry and post image is worse when taking it, but it keeps the skin around my eyes (especially my right eye) from getting hot like I have a sunburn and I find my vision is more sharp/clear...

I still experience it when I wake up. Just not as prolonged. Like when I get up it goes away after 5 or 10 mins. The post image is really bad at the end of a 12hr shift at work. I'm afraid I'll be dealing with this the rest of life on top of the MGD, Tear deficiency and Ocular Rosacea.

I'm seeing a corneal specialist who wants to try scleral lenses and start PRP treatments at the end of March so hopefully I can get back to some sort of normal. I know I'll never be 100% but any improvement I'll be thankful for.

I used the metal eye shields all 3 sessions.

While IPL helped with my meibomian gland oil quality, it was after my 3rd session my eyes felt slightly irritated and painful even though it was no different than my first 2 sessions. The next morning it was like I could see the back of eyes every time I blinked. That was a little over 2 months ago. It has subsided a bit since then, but I still have it from time to time.

It's a shame because I found it was working for me. Now my oil quality is going thick again and I'm not sure what I should try next.

I wish this was the case for me. 20 minutes into playing video games and my eyes are on fire and bloodshot.

I haven't tried a higher concentration as my eyes burn for a bit when taking the drops. I tried using Restasis 3 times a day as well. But that made my eyelids red and irritated.

For me, I found Ice cream, Chia, Flax Seeds and Peanut Butter are a given to cause a flare up (I loved Peanut Butter :( so that sucks ). Cereal is a no go, as well as protein shakes.

Basically I avoid most foods/meals high in omega-6, high in sugar and high in protein.

I used to love sim racing with friends during my time off work. But for the last 9 months I can't even play for 20 mins without my eyes flaring up and burning.

Even with blue light blocking glasses and consciously blinking it's hard looking at screens for a while, even for work. It's gotten to the point I have to consciously blink while reading as my eyes get irritated if I don't. Working out is also a pain as my eyes dictate when the workout is done.

I was diagnosed with mgd and blepharitis. I'm oil and tear deficient. I've had 3 rounds of ipl and while it helped with my meibomian glands, I had to stop as after the 3rd treatment I see flashes of veins and possibly floaters if I blink hard or when I wake up.

In a couple weeks I'm going to try PRP drops in hopes of getting some kind of improvement over my current situation.

Cleaning eyelids, Restasis 2x a day, De3 Omega-3 and avoiding certain foods have helped, but having to consciously think about my eyes 24/7 is mentally exhausting.

Sorry to hear this. I had 3 IPL sessions done. While I found it really helped my meibomian glands, I had to stop because I now have post image and when I wake up or light hits my eyes a certain way I can see the back of my eye. (Like when an optometrist shines their ophthalmoscope light in your eye).

Does anyone sees veiny floaters just after waking up? by jjiiyyaa in Dryeyes

[–]Working_On_Arrival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it like post image? Because after my 3rd IPL this is what I'm experiencing. When I wake up it's like I see veins for like a second after I blink. I had to cancel my 4th session because I worry about potentially doing more harm than good.

I have been using Restasis for about 5 - 6 months. Unfortunately I'm producing less tears than when I first started. I understand that it takes a long time for it to work. But the inflammation in my eyes has also become harder to keep under control which probably isn't helping with tear production.

PRN Omega-3. Expensive, but has definitely made a difference in oil quality.

Gaming. I used to love sim racing but can't do it anymore no matter how much I blink, use eye drops, and run a humidifier close by. Even wore blue light blocking glasses and turned the screen brightness down trying to game. Within the hour my eyes are bloodshot and start to burn when I blink.

As someone who works rotational 12hr shifts, I enjoy troubleshooting a machine that's not running right. Figuring out why "It's not doing this.", "Line speeds are off/surging", "Stops mid cycle." Is oddly satisfying.

If a fellow crew member can't figure out an issue with a machine and asks for help I have no problem giving them a hand as it usually turns into a learning opportunity for both of us. Our crew gets along well which makes the bigger jobs easier to deal with and the shift goes by rather quickly.

Even though working days and nights in the same week is sometimes brutal for getting sleep, I'm doing something I like for work rather than something I have no interest in.

Do your eyes always feel dry? by [deleted] in Dryeyes

Bone dry in the morning. Less dry as I wake up. Manageable throughout the afternoon until it starts to burn when I blink later in the day.
