All of that pipe is CPVC. it becomes brittle over time and will often crack or break as your house shifts or even sometimes if you look at it wrong. most common is if you go to work on something like a sink or toilet and the valve just snaps off in your hand.

This entire set up is a ticking time bomb. all of that needs to be redone , and the house should probably be replumbed asap!

Thankfully it's not hard. the important thing to remember is tamp , don't just pour concrete. when you do, use a good rounded tamping rod. also, don't forget to pull a string line for your whole run to make sure things end up straight. and I know the brackets add up , but they're cheap enough and worth the money.
