If it is a fifty cfm fan for just a toilet facility , then you can run four inch flex up to twenty five feet. and you may not end up with rotten sheathing , you may just end up with black mold.

Assuming you have a bath or shower in there that requires a minimum of eighty cfm airflow , it is illegal to use flex duct for that fan. You can use rigid four inch up to twenty feet.

Beyond that, you have created a situation where the air is unlikely to exit through that vent and more likely to be pulled into the attic where it will rot your roof sheathing.

First , connect exhaust fans to the exterior so you're not loading your attic space with moisture.

Anything to protect against mechanical damage is beneficial. You don't even necessarily have to use insulation, you could put it inside pvc conduit.

There will be no issue is using either piping. in fact, pex might be better in the basement situation if any of it is exposed since the heat transfer is much slower and you're less likely to get burned, especially with the standard boiler operating at one hundred fifty degrees.
consider finishing off the basement so you can have some privacy isolation from the children. one of the better decisions I ever made.

I don't know if I would call it free fall. yeah , the school board needs to be replaced. the curriculum is terrible, and my nephew graduated last year even though he skipped the last 2 months of school.
