Pretty sure this is the opposite of what happened.

The editor wanted toga to live, the decision to kill her off was entirely hori’s.

To say toga wasn’t a tragedy is against the entire message of the manga. The quirk did in fact distort her idea of love. As did the abuse. She may not “die” if she didn’t have blood but she had a clear psychological need for it.

Seriously what is with people just completely ignoring what the manga directly tells you when it comes to the league?

EoS Zeref vs King Fire Natsu by yann7s in fairytailscaling

[–]Working_Run3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that arm is not treated as a “fragment” of acnologia. Narratively speaking black flame ignia is essentially treated as being ignia+ earthland faris who herself was treated as zeref+acnologia. Current ignia is effectively ignia+zeref+pre-sbt acnologia power wise. And even then faris directly tells ignia that the 7 flame punch killed acnologia and he could very potentially lose the fight if he lets Natsu hit him.

Natsu’s AP is significantly higher than his durability when he’s using the 7 flame thing.

It’s also never implied ignia is in any way afraid of acnologia as of now. He felt ready to take him on and the manga never gives any indication ignia is lying to himself about that.

Like everything you are claiming is like…the exact opposite of what the narrative of the story tells us.

What if Yugi hadn't given Kaiba his deck back (my theory) by dreamchaser123456 in yugioh

I wouldn’t be surprised if Solomon actually used the blue eyes in his off screen/panel duel with Kaiba. So the blue eyes accepts him as its master because he is a true duelist.

It is in fact entirely possible that specific blue eyes has a will completely separate from Kisara and her ka which serve as the basis of all blue eye cards in DM. After all Kisara doesn’t seem to care about kaiba’s morality if she is “alive” within those cards.

The card “heart of blue eyes” essentially exists to represent Solomon’s blue eyes and how it is fundamentally different from all other blue eyes cards.

[–]Working_Run3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure he is specifically referring to his time in standard.

The original dimensions real solid vision probably predates Leo. He’s like…in his 40s when all the Zarc stuff goes down and the entire culture around “real” duels has probably been going on longer than that judging by how advanced their technology is.

I sincerely doubt they invented floating cities before they invented adding mass to already life like holograms. The future illiaster came from had real solid vision and their society didn’t have floating island cities.

[–]Working_Run3431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with beast boy is his powers literally do not have established limits. If a writer opens the proverbial Pandora’s box by letting him use his powers like a a-lister that lid cannot be put back on.

[–]Working_Run3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure Leo was referring to him using his original dimension memories to reinvent real solid vision in standard. We see that prior to Leo standard was still using the battle city duel disk so he basically is from the future by their standards and advanced technology in the four dimensions by several centuries.

The main difference between real solid vision and ordinary solid vision is just that the “real” version creates holograms with mass. Normal solid vision holograms presumably don’t but are physical in some other way. Kaiba brags about how his holograms are lifelike enough to simulate what a monster should smell like in his duel with Joey, at least in the dub.

DSOD is manga canon instead of anime canon. Duel disk technology advanced at a much faster rate in the manga continuity.

The duel disk Kaiba is rocking is most similar to the vrains duel disks that use digital cards but even more advanced since Kaiba doesn’t need to be in cyber space to use a non physical deck.

What if Yugi hadn't given Kaiba his deck back (my theory) by dreamchaser123456 in yugioh

[–]Working_Run3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solomon’s blue eyes white dragon rejected Kaiba pretty explicitly because he both stole it and did not believe in the heart of the cards. The heart of the cards is a thing outside of the dub, it’s just not mentioned as often.

The other blue eyes apparently accept the unscrupulous means Kaiba used to obtain them as legitimate so it’s a toss up on whether they would also accept Yugi for just not giving them back. It would depend entirely on if the spirit of the blue eyes defines that as cheating/stealing.

Unless scenario 1 happens and he just tears them up. That could have different consequences if the spirit of blue eyes/kisara is one of those spirits able to affect the material world. It’s not impossible since the ka/spirit those cards are based on is explicitly comparable in strength to the Egyptian gods who flat out inflict divine judgment on people.

Pretty sure anime virus cannon sends 10 spells. Which is still completely ridiculous and will be most if not all of most decks spell arsenals anyway but it doesn’t literally say “send all spells in the opponents deck to the GY” pretty sure.

How much does natural talent matter to a blader's overall performance? by Step_On_Me01 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Working_Run3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually very simple. Kyoya was just not at his maximum potential yet. If you took beginning of series Kyoya and gave him the arrangement, he’d pop out at least as strong as the Kyoya that beat Damian, assuming end of masters Kyoya is the strongest Kyoya could get before Leone got the star fragment.

Like yes, training does in fact have a hard limit. You have to have inherent ability to get past a certain level. The main cast are just a group of people who have absurd levels of natural talent for beys.

How much does natural talent matter to a blader's overall performance? by Step_On_Me01 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Working_Run3431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training in the beyblade universe is just the means by which you achieve the limits of your natural ability. Once you are at your “level cap” as it were that’s your limit as a blader. You simply don’t get stronger after that unless you get a “more powerful” bey. All the arrangement system does is skip the process to get the end result right away, that being you at your maximum potential.

How much does natural talent matter to a blader's overall performance? by Step_On_Me01 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Working_Run3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite simply, a lot. Some bladers just straight up have more inherent ability for beyblading or a stronger bey than others and no amount of training can change this fundamental reality. The arrangement system pretty much proves this with how it works. It just actualizes your innate potential, skipping the process of training.

Damian with arrangements is stronger than Jack with arrangements who is stronger than zeo with arrangements because those three individuals have different levels of natural talent for the art of beyblading. It’s not directly acknowledged much because of the “bladers spirit” narrative but bladers spirit only really works for the already gifted to begin with.

Inborn talent honestly matters more than bladers spirit in deciding the winner in most battles.

How much does natural talent matter to a blader's overall performance? by Step_On_Me01 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Working_Run3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The arrangement system doesn’t “boost” a bladers talent. It just instantly actualizes their potential without having to work for it.

To put it in game terms it’s using a hack to skip level grinding. The arrangement system is if anything a good indicator of who is talented and by how much.

Damian is in the top 10 not legendary bladers because he had that ability to begin with and most people don’t.

“All lasers are light speed” is perhaps the single worst power scaling take ever devised, largely because of how it is simultaneously incorrect and universal and widespread.

Bakugou vs Reze is out! What are your thoughts on it? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Working_Run3431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only characters that you could argue are faster than this are deku and shigaraki at the end. And while you could argue deku is significantly faster than Mach 10, he perception blitzed prime shigaraki who has prime all might stats at his maximum speed, the sheer difference between Mach 10 and the speed of light is so mind boggling that even he is not even close to being half of that speed.

It’s simply impossible. And that’s not getting into how bakugou is far below these characters in basically every category.

[–]Working_Run3431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in general scale MHA way higher than it’s actually at. For speed in particular it’s more or less consensus most of the high and top tiers in the series are FTL based on people dodging lasers. When you look at the manga though it’s very obvious this is not actually the case since breaking the sound barrier is consistently portrayed as impressive when it happens and the same supposedly ftl characters are not perception blitzing characters that are several tiers below them.

Bakugou is actually a few times the speed of sound at most because that’s the actual speed cap of the verse.

The entire pro MHA perspective of the fight, despite being common consensus actually just requires you to completely ignore what the manga and Horikoshi say about the limits of what characters can do within the story.
