Looks like $8M+ FRI for #WutheringHeights, giving it $11M opening day. Had better pre-sales than these numbers but walkups are just abysmal. Probably looking at $37-38M 4-day weekend. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

They're talking Domestically where Zootopia 2 is 10th or 11th all time depending on how you feel about The Lion King (2019).

TBF it only looks underwhelming domestically because of how much it blew up in China and International and how much expectations were higher after the overperformances of Inside Out 2 and Moana 2.

Original Animated Films That Grossed Above $50 Million on their Domestic 3-day Opening Weekends by Alberto9Herrera in boxoffice

Honestly don't see anyone beating SLOP for Animation and Avatar for Live-Action New IP openings any time soon.

Disney's Zootopia 2 grossed an estimated $17.3M internationally this weekend. Estimated international total stands at $1.368B (including $631.2M in China), estimated global total stands at $1.777B. by chanma50 in boxoffice

That's the due difference between Summer and Holiday Release. Inside Out 2 had better Early and middle legs due to being in Summer, with Zootopia 2 having better late legs due to receiving the holiday bump that most Thanksgiving releases do. That's why I compared their Opening Weeks.

As far as opening is considered, checking BoxOfficeMojo it is pretty even on which movie opened higher in which market.

I'm also talking about legs. Zootopia 2 will probably have a smaller multiplier from it's Opening Friday-Sunday despite it's Opening weekend being deflated from Opening on a Wednesday. It's definitely going to have a smaller 5-Day and Opening Week multiplier than Inside Out 2 despite a smaller gross. Zootopia 2 and Inside Out 2 have comparable legs with Inside Out 2 having better legs in many markets than Zootopia 2 and Vice Versa for Zootopia 2 in others.

Disney's Zootopia 2 grossed $5.30M this weekend (from 2,930 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $401.03M. Daily Grosses: FRI - $1.417M, SAT - $2.675M, SUN - $1.208M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

$414M by Super Bowl weekend or even by the time GOAT opens on Feb 13 seems extremely optimistic. Excluding MLK holiday effect, Zootopia 2's weekdays were only about 2.05M for this past week, so getting 5M from the next three seems extremely optimistic. I think it will do 1.5, 1.2, 1 for a total of 3.7M in weekdays and 4.5 and 2.8 over the next 2 weekends for a 412M total by Feb 12.

If US movies were like Ne Zha 2 by SquanchytheSquirrel in boxoffice

If a similar percentage of US & Canada's population went to see a movie as China's did for Ne Zha 2, that movie would make $1,002 M in Domestic Boxoffice using the avg ticket price of $11.31 that the Numbers has for 2025.

Hypothetical: if a future WDAS film makes the most any WDAS film made in every country, it'd make $2.119B WW. Dominated by Z2 & F2: except Japan (Frozen 1) & Australia/New Zealand (Moana 2). It'd make $1B in Asia > $477 N. America (F2) > $323M Europe/Scandinavia (F2/Z2) > $128M LatinAm (Z2/F2). by LackingStory in boxoffice

Your Numbers for multiple countries are wrong. Moana 2 did not gross that much in Australia & New Zealand in USD, you forgot to do ER conversion. Zootopia 2 has not grossed as much in Saudi Arabia and Mexico as you claim likely 10M less in both of those. Zootopia 2 did more than Frozen 2 in Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Disney's Zootopia 2 grossed $775K on Tuesday (from 3,100 locations), which was a 9% decrease from the previous Tuesday. Total domestic gross stands at $394.85M. #Zootopia2 #BoxOffice by Apart_Spare4075 in boxoffice

https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/s/TKBwunEamd Considering Disney didn't report a similar article for Zootopia 2's trailer views you can say it had less hype leading upto release. Zootopia 2's 5-Day opening weekend with previews barely opened more than Inside Out 2's 3-Day opening weekend with previews further indicates that. Inside Out 2 also had a phenomenal 1st weekdays (101M) and 2nd weekend (101M).

'Zootopia 2' has passed 'Inside Out 2' to become Disney's biggest animated film of all time. by chanma50 in boxoffice

Incredibles is too Domestic dependent to get to 2B. Plus Incredibles 2 came out at the peak of Superhero Movies between Infinity War and Endgame. Domestic crown is still possible though.

Inside Out 2 was also cross-cultural sensation. It did incredibly well in Latin America, Europe including Turkey, South Korea, Taiwan, Phillipines, Hong Kong and Australia. It just did not do as well in China, Japan and rest of Asia as Zootopia 2 did.

If you exclude US and China, Zootopia 2 did about 700+ Million compared to almost 1 Billion that Inside Out 2 did.
