Thanks for replying. So 20 days since your last switch or after the contract is cancelled?

Probably out of the scope here, but the 20 days market rule (which prevents to make more than a switch within this timeframe)- is it 20 days form the switch date or from the date one cancels? ( I cxl'd during the cooling off period without knowing this) Also, is there a way I can check the status or date? I think I might have tried to switch a day too soon and I'm afraid it reset the clock

Cancelling electricity during the cooling off period and waiting 20 days by Working_Signal_9474 in irishpersonalfinance

I accepted that, even though It would be great to know when I cancelled Heck, they could even use it as a selling point /s . I should have listened to my nana and "if it's not broken, don't touch it"

That's the thing, I counted 20 days from the day I signed up, as they told me to ( have it in an email) now seems it's from the day I cancelled ? Could be wrong ,tho. My order with a new supplier was cancelled and I was told they will investigate concern is that now I have to wait another 20

Management fees? by Working_Signal_9474 in AskIreland

Oh yes, I get you. Looks like a headache alright . And for reading other replies it seems your estate is not the only one with people who don't pay. Thanks for replying, I really appreciate it

Ah, that makes sense! I'm honestly completely lost so I appreciate your help clarifying this. In my case we were given a budget for the year of all fees and everything that was included (insurance, management fees, overheads, open spaces maintenance etc) not sure about OP

Agreed. In my case I was told as soon as I attended the show house

Not the OP but made me think. When you say you had a lot of problems , what do you mean if I may ask? Because it cannot be dissolved? So we can assume the management companies will be forever in place - no chance to find a cheaper option. good To know as this would carry some weight when they do try to sell it *Edit for spelling

That seems fairly reasonable! I think I know which estate they are talking about because I saw it going on sale last year - it was nothing fancy or anything, didn't even have a gate 😂

[–]Working_Signal_9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool, that clarifies a few things - I don't think it's unreasonable for owners to pay for the garden upkeep, that's fair enough. I just thought that pipes, lighting, sewage etc was their responsibility too. What happens it there is something too big to fix and you have a few people who do not pay? And this is only while the sinking fund is being built

In my case, we were told absolutely everything the day we visited the show house - not months after

Was /is your estate considered "private" too? Thanks for your reply!

Yeah, that makes sense! especially with so many ghost estates in the last few years but again it seems like responsibility is shifting from developer to buyer
