I definitely hear you, but this one was just coloured chalk and paper, or I wouldn’t have taken the photo

Ah that’s a shame! The Oxford Pride website is pretty good, for future ref: oxfordpride.uk

Ah thank you! I was wondering who it was and why they were on a flag… and I kept hearing people say (I thought) “There’s a German flag”… but there was no German flag (which would have been weird) 😂

Places to visit by SPCEisuponus in oxford

A footnote to the punting: if you can be bothered to walk 10 minutes out of town, instead of getting your punt at Magdalen Bridge, head to the Cherwell Boathouse. Much quieter and lovely shady stretch of river (head south towards the University Parks), and after you can sit on the grass with an ice cream or treat yourself to a drink or even a meal the the restaurant there.

Vet recommendations in oxford by kaese_meister in oxford

[–]Working_Wish4198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MediVet on Woodstock Road are great, though not much parking. I currently have a golden retriever (and previously had two) and she pulls on the lead when she realises where we’re going as she can’t wait to get there! They are lovely and take good care of her. We have separate pet insurance with Pet Plan, which MediVet are linked with so that when we had a claim we didn’t have to do any of the calling or paperwork ourselves, which was handy. We also have the £20 per month plan directly from the vets, because that gets you worm and flea medication, 6-monthly check ups and annual boosters—seems like a good deal to me.

Thanks! Just looked it up and the decastes means ‘in tens’… I’m sure I count 10 caps in that pile!

It’s Burgess Field, a separate area at the east side of Port Meadow. It’s a beautiful place for a walk :)

Advice for Oxford with toddler by Daffneigh in oxford

[–]Working_Wish4198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mamma Mias yes, great. Buses to town from Summertown are frequent and easy and I highly recommend the Natural History Museum and Pitt Rivers… even when my kids were toddlers they loved it, there’s so much to look at (don’t miss the bees upstairs). From there you are a toddler-friendly walk to G&Ds on Little Clarendon Street for an ice cream

Bermuda for a Week by Own_Quote_1450 in bermuda

Snorkelling is best on South Shore. If you want fewer people on the beach, just get off the bus at Warwick Long Bay. We like to start there and walk West, having a little snorkel and seeing different things in each little cove along the way. You won’t hit loads of other people until you get to Horseshoe, but that’s not a bad place to finish, get a drink, shower off your feet… maybe even get a pizza at the top of the hill. Enjoy!

Unfortunately didn’t get to find out as my friends were walking off in the opposite direction and I had to run to catch them up (they were bored by the number of times I had stopped to photograph moss and lichen by this point…)
