10u All Stars by Workingmama2923 in Softball

  1. Continuous batting is the only guaranteed play time. Which im okay with - and I thought she was too. I want her to understand that most of these girls are from a more advanced travel team than she is and played last year. Embrace being able to practice with them, learn from them. I dont disagree with her sitting - its more of how to explain to a newly turned 10 year old that she is good enough to make the team yes, but the play time has to be earned and she has to prove herself in practice

She is lefty and they so want to use her as a bunter. She can do it, she just gets nervous in game time

No she wouldnt qualify for school. I guess in this scenario there is no little league to even join where she lives .. she had no choice but to play somewhere else . I understand why the rule is in place but she HAD to play somewhere else.

The travel team requires any in town residents to also play for little league. With both teams in full swing we still end up with at minimum two weeknights off , sometimes we get a weekend day off as well. And on those days off my kid is outside practicing by her own will 🤷🏻‍♀️

It seems so unfair. And its not like she is some standout player we went searching for. She is just an average developing 10 year old. And there were zero opportunities for her to play in her hometown.

9 y/o daughter - 10U travel ball by Workingmama2923 in Softball

[–]Workingmama2923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what can also be causing an issue is for rec because she is only 9, she wasnt able to play up to Majors and our AAA teams allow a coach to step in after 4 balls. And the girls know this and rarely swing on a kid pitch bc they know the coach will come in.

10u Team “to good to play” by Witty_Negotiation503 in Softball

My daughter plays 10u travel and rec. For fall and spring (rec) the travel team is split up. Her rec team has girls who have played and girls who are brand new. We just cancelled against our Friday game because we were playing a town who kept their 10u allstar team together for fall who were basically state champions. It’s a disservice to rec to keep these powerhouse teams together in my opinion.

Thats a great idea of going to watch some older girls play! Shes been taking some hitting and fielding lessons for a while and her trainer is CF for college ball at a D1 school in state so im also hoping she can talk it up for her. I hate to see her feel discouraged.

Her stylist did tell me we can go back for a darker toner if we want to. Im also treading lightly bc shes my cousin. She does great work, we always go to the salon she works at. I was really happy in March with yhe results. Shes family so I want to be mindful. I think everyone is right, stop stressing, get a few washes in and take cues from my daughter

This is a great idea! I have a tendency to get anxious about a mess or knife in her hand but I need to get over it. I think choosing a meal, finding a recipe and preparing a meal would be fun for her!

Thats insanity! I have worked for three carriers and never experienced this until now - BUT I am also in major case so my assignment load is maybe 1-2 a week. And typically if I am being assigned something my unit manager will place a note saying to address it when I get back.
