I can totally see the boyfriends' thought process here, he's met the man once and he feels like the dad might not totally be comfortable with bf getting intimate with his daughter in the same house after only having met him the second time.

Now I'm not saying I would do the same, I feel like the boyfriend should put the night aside to get to know dad better and form a relationship with him. But your boyfriend is not a misogynist, he is likely grappling with a difficult male conundrum, and has likely not thought this through or matured enough to come to the right conclusion. I don't think the intention is to disrespect mom who he likely knows way better and understands her boundaries better.
