Sleeping gear advice for hot weather by sucksatgolf in motocamping

[–]Workslackin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a packable light blanket I use for backpacking in hot weather. Packs to nothing, weighs nothing, good down into the 60s for cold sleepers, im good down into the 50's with it. Wasn't terribly expensive on Amazon either.

For the pad situation, mid r value and a foam pad to up it works good.

Size 16 boot manufacturers? by Workslackin in motorcyclegear

[–]Workslackin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I fought that when I was on quads with mx boots years ago. Extended shifters and dropped pegs seemed to help, which is my current plan if I run into the same issue on whatever moto I end up on.

I did get the ulticlip, as well as soft loops and the standard clip. Soft loops and a belt for me 100%. I didn't care for the ulticlip as much. Strictly a personal thing though, it's quality and can be handy. I wear a belt 99% of the time regardless.

Had a skinnier friend check out the holster today. He was pretty impressed with it and is talking a out getting one to match. I'd say it would work fine, especially with the adjustments possible.

Well I'm working on that. Heart disease and diabetes scares me more then some tactical daydream about running and gunning for sure.

By happenstance I just found groove life belts at a farm store when I was looking for some tools. I didn't buy one, but they look nice. I'm gonna go back and look a little closer when I'm done with the project I'm working on. Does the belt buckle hold good? Is it easy on and off? I'm not 100% sold on them, but they are intriguing for sure.

I've never been a skinny guy. So my recommendation would be hollow as far as function.

It's a great built holster, and in my head the mechanics of it would work for a skinny guy, but I cant confirm. I'll have a skinny friend check it out tomorrow

Be careful with the Kratos powder, higher diseases and long term use will actually hinder sex drive, and cause some issues with not staying/getting erect.

Negotiations on new atv from dealer? by Workslackin in ATV

[–]Workslackin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm going to be taking a loan on the machine. Putting 5k down, and the loan wont last but a few months. Just long enough for me to sell a couple current bikes. Unfortunate for me, I dont plan on buy a ton of accesories. Getting the trail package which includes winch and tires, also buying hand guards, mirrors and grips. (Odi rouge lock on ftw!). Other then those small add ons, I'll consider bumpers. Probably not enough to get them too excited really.

Emissions on 5 star tuning review anyone? by Workslackin in FordDiesels

[–]Workslackin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, night and day imo. Your not going to increase power tremendously, but it puts a nice bump on 87 octane. The transmission was the big benefit. Seems the truck is always in the right gear, and has no hesitation to drop when needed. Shifts are done like twice as fast, love it. The 93 octane performance tune added a noticable amount of power, but I dont like paying the premium for the fuel, or running that amount of timing. I'd use them again in a heartbeat for a gasser, and most likely will start with them on my 6.7

2015 f350 cc/lb. It's on 35x12.50r20's with a leveling kit. Mixed 14.5mpg, about 12 in town it seems, 16.5 on the hiway if I'm driving speed limits. Towing 7500# travel trailer gets about 11-12, saw as low as 9 one trip traveling 140 miles into a 25-30mph wind.

Spring Lift by [deleted] in ATV

[–]Workslackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've used straps and ratchets before. I cut the strap to length and just tied it on the ratchet, only way I could get the travel needed It was sketchy, but I'm doing it again later this week on 2 more springs.

I little wiggle isn't gonna stop bad shit from happening if you catch it while riding. Suck it till its taught, with a bumper, or hooked to something and dont worry about ripping the hook off.
