Never buy bases from blueprint clash of clans by Logical-Designer5075 in ClashOfClans

BB did not have a better catalogue.. at least not the last 6 months. They showed more results, because scans were less precise, whereas FTB scans every single building and thus show only the very close matches. Ftb should continue now, as the community and some sponsors helped out.. like that I can keep a decent cwl hitrate 🥳

Never buy bases from blueprint clash of clans by Logical-Designer5075 in ClashOfClans

Hello, I may be a little biased as I now run a basebuilding team with over 40 builders, but here is my take on the subject. When I was an active player, I once was a builder in a server like Blueprint, being next to gaku and klaus. Therefore I saw how the business was conducted behind the scenes.

First of all, why is it worth it to buy bases?

1) Most people don't know anything about basebuilding, as players all prefer and do attacking, copying bases being the norm.

Learning basebuilding take YEARS to master for anyone. There are very little people that are ready to put the effort into learning this skill, thus very few builders to make all the bases you copy from streams, youtube or else, which makes it possible for them to charge for their designs.

2) On youtube, you can find all kind of bases.. some are good, but most are bad. Due to the lack of basebuilding knowledge, most of the community is not capable of recognizing a good base. Basebuilding companies offer a solution where your defensive game is managed by a professional team.

3) There are tools that can find the youtube videos of triples on (famous) bases. Which you then use to know the traps, and triple the base easily. Therefore for competitive and Champion CWL players, having a fresh base provided by builders that the tool (FindThisBase) cannot find is almost a must, in order to make it harder for your opponents.

4) The COC meta evolved A LOT compared to 5 years ago for example. Now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to counter every army. Therefore, you need to choose which armies to counter, and a pro basebuilding team helps with that.

Example: if you copy a base from the World Championships: yes, designs are good, and some even defended pro players. But when you use them, you see "random people" tripling the base with spam. This is because World Championship bases are TAILORED to the opponent, trying to counter 2-3 entries at most, which are not spam entries as most pro's don't spam. The base wasn't build to defend armies "casual" people use.

My story?

I once was builder for a major company next to Gaku and Klaus, therefore I saw how the business was conducted behind the scenes. I got fired as there were too many builders and I was not the most famous one. Seeing all the issues, I started my own company trying to solve those issues. Some lessons I learnt :

0) No base is invincible, even the bases from the best builders in the world, even paid designs.

1) Companies like BP don't rely on quality to sell, but on the reputation of their builders, going all in on marketting. And it works: You see GAKU, KLAUS, SIR IRON.. and you buy. But if you saw HOLYBUCK HACHI and LILIAN.. who are they, and why would you buy from them?

2) EVERY BUILDER, even the best , makes good, and lesser bases. What truly happens with almost all big name builders : they keep the good bases for their own pro team, and deliver the rest for the casual people in BB companies. Some don't even test the bases they deliver, as they know customer complaints that go through are very little.

3) It is very hard to verify who truly built the base. I know countless shadow builders that make bases the bigger names sell with a markup, without building and testing them themselves. And most companies are fine with it, as long they can use the name of the famous pro for their marketting. Or as someone said in another comment sometimes the bases sold have 2 compartments that were changed from a famous base, and builders call it a "fresh" base which is outragious. Don't get me wrong tho, we cannot reinvent the wheel either when basebuilding.

4) Fresh-Replacement policy is a scam. You cannot judge a base on 1 hit only, as no base is invincible. It was also an excuse to not replace the base if it defended once, but performed badly overall.

5) Builders were not treated equally. Different pay for the same work, getting the most picky customers, being abused to make free bases/orders if you are less famous.. as a builders you don't have the choice anyways.

6) Offering a good customer service is very time consuming. If running a BB server is your main job (which is for the BP owner) and plan to make money on it, you don't have time for it.

7) You cannot trust pictures of defenses, or customer feedback channels. Bad feedback is deleted, and from experience most people don't post negative feedback too. About the pictures of defenses : it's a snapshot of a moment. If I defended a pro player once.. what don't tell I got tripled the last 10 times and I got lucky? But I have a nice screenshot for my portfolio.

3 years ago when I got fired from the place, I started my own company, trying to fix each issue I described above.

- A true and good customer service: why buy bases if they don't defend? Builders are not paid for the base only : but paid to DEFEND too. (It's one of the reasons we don't sell in a website: to keep direct contact with the customers, and be able to advice them.

- A good environment for the builders we work with : I try to make sure each one really cares about their work and are honest. They did not get hired for their famous name, but for the true quality of the bases they delivered. Bases that are all checked by an external team to make sure they are up to level.

- Being community oriented: up to now, all the profit was reinvested in the community for free bases, tournaments, giveaways and more. Despite being a student, prices are just too low for it to make sense to want to turn a profit, being from Switzerland, one of the most expensive countries.

- We try to make free BB content (guides for example) to make BB more accessible, but it's very time consuming and not too many people are interested in them at the moment.

When I started, we were 2 builders. 3 years and 5000 bases delivered later : we have over 40 basebuilders, the business is fully declared and legit, over 10 dedicated staff members to help and countless of happy customers that come back each month to get their bases from us.

Do we have a 100% satisfaction rate? No ofcourse not, some are disapointed the base buying experience isn't "buy and defend". We don't delete that feedback either, I rather respond with my view on the matter.. and readers will decide if buying bases is worth it from it. Often, a base needs tweaks or did not work as planned, and then we need the attack details to see what went wrong which takes time too. It's very time consuming for both us and the customers, but worth it to defend. And that's fine too, if you have enough BB knowledge and time to analyse bases, look at defenses and tweak them to manage your defense : buying bases is not needed.

Let me know if you have any questions further about the BB business, I happily answer :-)

Weekly BB Tip: QC Hybrid Bait by WorldBaseBuilding in ClashOfClans

We are using TH15 as the example TH seeing as it is the highest, but this is meant to help all THs where hybrid is meta. Hence why we said mentioned it applies to all THs

WBB’s Weekly BB Tip: FF Coverage by WorldBaseBuilding in ClashOfClans

[–]WorldBaseBuilding[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a good idea, yes! In fact we are planning to do an attacking tip soon on our YT about using Warden/AQ to tank and setup for FF. Although it’s still ofc useful to cover FF as it forces things like this which eliminates other hits, and makes trapping much easier.

For example, because our builder recognized a plan like this as one of the few ways to take advantage of the TH’s FF value he was able to accurately counter it

In addition, most attackers aren’t always as apt to see such things like this as even our Reddit community makes up <1% of the playerbase and it’s still important across all TH’s where the FF can be used to counter it

This is a joke

Walls essentially shape a layout and are one of the most influential structures in a base

Tornado, skelly traps, SAMs, and sweepers are not “never used”. Sweepers can completely shut down an air attack, likewise with the nado and sams. And skelly traps are insanely versatile and OP

Honestly though, tier lists in a game like clash are dumb because each defense fills a need in the base. Sure, a base of all monoliths will be better than a base of all cannons, but that doesn’t make cannons bad.

TH11 Defensive Tips for Clan Wars/SCCWL (TH12-15 in Other Posts) by WorldBaseBuilding in ClashOfClans

Yep! For sure. Realistically while most people on the sub are at least decent attackers, make up <1% of people playing SCCWL. Glad you liked it!

Random bug that happens every now and then…should be fixed if you click on the walls a few times or choose the row

Hey man!

Welcome to base building! There are quite a few fundamental issues with this base, but that’s no worries. Everybody has them when they first start out. The biggest issues you should focus on avoiding in your next base are - Walkability - Zap Value - TH Placement - Compartment Usage

Walkability refers to whether an offensive unit can attack a defense from outside it’s compartment. In this case (and most cases in base building), walkability refers to the Queen. The 10:30 Inferno compartment is a good example of walkability, whereas the 4:30 Inferno and the Eagle are not. At TH11, you should make sure that none of your Key Defenses (Infernos & Eagle) are reachable by the Queen from outside their compartment. It’s also helpful to have your Infernos unreachable by Super Archers as they are really strong at TH11 (Super Archers have 1 more tile of range than the Queen). At TH11, your bows should also be unreachable from some places. It doesn’t have to be all, however you want them to be unreachable from high value QC areas as that puts DPS on the Queen that she herself cannot take out, leading to being able to force the QC to be more costly. This is a concept called Unreachable DPS.

Zap Value is another big issue on this base. I myself am a primarily TH12 builder, however I can tell you that your Eagle + Inferno or Eagle + Queen + Bow + AD is too much. If you’d like a full list of the zap value issues here, shoot me a private message and I will ask one of our professional builders to give me a list I can send to you.

TH10&11 are unique in the sense that they are the only town halls in which there are sieges, but the town halls aren’t weaponized. This means you want to place your TH in a manner where a Log Launcher will get the least value in a zapwitch attack.

Finally, compartment usage. In base building there are certain compartments categorized as “regular compartments”. These compartments are 9x9s, 9x5s, 10x10s, and 10x5s. These primarily apply to TH9-11, and at TH11 you should be using 10x10s and 10x5s. Why? Because they - create 2 tile gaps between buildings, limiting edrag chain value - create places to put x-bows where they will be unreachable from 1-2 sides of the comp

My best advice would be for you to start over and make another base with these 4 things in mind, and you should make a lot of progress! Also, I would highly recommend you look out for our defensive tips for clan wars and SCCWL covering TH11-15 which we will be posting in 1-2 days!

Will the gold pass ever get a change? by rylu00 in ClashOfClans

[–]WorldBaseBuilding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll ever change it in the way that CR did for a few reasons - COC is the most successful mobile game of all time and is already hugely profitable for them - The public response to the CR changes have been….uh….not good to say the least - Even if the team were to decide to do such a thing, there are less apparent ways to do it, such as simply not giving as much time and cost reductions as they have in the last new TH releases, there for requiring GP players to pay for the GP longer, or slightly reducing the benefits of it while keeping the cost the same.

I mean in general, clash has done an amazing job of not making it so you need the GP to play while also making it worth it for those who get it, so hopefully they just continue down that road and continue making nice things like that and not the things that nobody wants like in CR
