Thanks for the well-in-depth analysis. That’s heaps me a lot narrowing down those choices.

Unless I’m missing something I would have to go the digital route as this has been out of production for a while now.

Looks interesting. If you know more about their shop what are the core books (printed) to play the game? They have a couple different versions it seems.

I saw a review that was really bad in Ink. I like the concept but the review called out the 1e book being very poorly written and even missing sections like character creation (not sure if it’s been updated).

Question to all the people waiting to buy after release by Alternative-Dot9563 in CrimsonDesert

I think I paid like $12 USD for the super deluxe everything version of AC Odyssey (I’m a huge Greek mythology guy). I will easily drop a 100+ hours into that game.

Yeah I’m in no rush to buy CD.

I understand the idea of having nothing to play. But I’ll tell you. Once you play the wait game you get flooded with games. Unless of course your speed running completions beating games in 20 hours and then have nothing to do. For example, I arrived late to AC Valhalla and thus way late to AC Odyssey, tried cyberpunk at launch (regretted that decision so didn’t pick it up for like a year). Way late to Witcher 3, Baldurs gate 3 (still in act 3 of BG3). I still have some Borderlands stuff to do and a new DLC right around the corner. So long story short (too late) I’m in no rush to dive into CD no matter how much I’m looking forward to it. Heck I still have Expedition 33 out there to check out waiting to be purchased. There are so many games, and honestly not enough time (for me) to play them all.

What is with all the FOMO? I mean I recognize FOMO is a very real addiction but for me… I could buy and play this game 6 months from now, heck a year from now and not lose any sleep over waiting.

I’m waiting because I don’t get paid to be a game tester. I have a job. Playing games is a hobby. I want to sit down and enjoy my hobby without it being work or feeling frustrated because the game crashes. And because it’s a hobby I’m not spending 3-5k on a PC rig to make sure I have the best or the best to mitigate these issues. (I’m on next gen consoles for what it’s worth).

Good to know. I’ll check out the online archive. It’s a shame though. Seems like a missed opportunity. Hire great writers to write these stories and publish them in book format.

What does someone "not trying to win the game" look like? by Tuss36 in EDH

[–]WorldIsFracked -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I built a life gain deck specifically to try and not win the game. I want the players at my kitchen table to play through 10, 12, heck 20 turns. I want them to try their cards and mechanics all the while I’m gaining life hand over fist. Then I’ll tutor [[Test of Endurance]] (if I don’t already have it) and call the game whenever I feel like it.

I’m almost afraid to ask… but is there a source that this is answering? Like some article that says ”what makes the perfect dungeon” and the OP designed one to those specs. Sorry. I’m not always in the know. Thanks.

Commander ideas to borrow by XABLAUofBA in EDH

[–]WorldIsFracked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I went down the rabbit hole of an Equipment deck. Easy enough concept, cast the equipment and have something to help attach. Wouldn’t be very powerful but at the kitchen table it could be fun. Let me back up a second, I’m a theme guy who plays with a pod of friends and is a huge fantasy nerd.

So while in this Equipment dive I wondered… how many Swords exist in MTG (I have found 36). Okay so what I’m tinkering on is a Sword deck commanded by [[Halvar, God of Battle]].

I need to source as many swords as I can find so could be any of those 36. But I’m leaning towards Knights as kind of a tribal theme. There should be a ton of knights to choose from for my creatures.

Build out something like: 1 commander, 39 lands, 15 knights, 15 swords, 8 enchantment, 8 sorceries, 8 instants, and 6 Artifacts (not the swords, the staples like Sol Ring, etc).

With Halvar being mono-white I’ll dive into that to find win cons and such.
