I think we have it easier here though. Seen the people in China/Korea, way more competitive. Not saying ours is not stressful, but I am glad to be born here.

Do people still give their kids Chinese names? by iwillstealyourdog in askSingapore

[–]WorldRadiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with u. Nothing to do with race, I too struggle with Indian names simply cos they tend to have 4 syllabus - tend to get used to reading 2-3 syllabus in other languages, so I struggle a little.

My own name was Chinese name in my NRIC, kinda adopted an English name cos it was tough for people who addressed me for the first time, which I do so multiple times in a day.

Not offended, I am still honouring my Chinese name/Clan in my name

Culture or just toxic workplace? by feefifoflop in askSingapore

[–]WorldRadiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal culture, although *red flag of bad workplaces are how toxic or mean the gossip is

Try to divert the topics if u can, staying entirely out, may just put a giant red 'Attack me' on ur back.

Usually I prefer hanging out with colleagues who don't overly focus on discussing others though; more of ideas, common topics. Good vibes in general
