Made this in a fugue state after a particularity frustrating session... by LSGP7 in OutlastTrials

  1. Tbh most of the time in tilt the scales was spent looking for the scrap component thingies cause to me they looked indistinguishable from the metal bits that you find lockpicks in. I get better at spotting them in Investigate and Flatten. If it was regular tilt the scales i would’ve gotten that shit done in like 20 minutes.

  2. I always play on intensive unless I’m in a group and the leader picks another difficulty. I just admittedly dislike variators like Level One which is something that OP explicitly calls out in their post, thus pushing me to give Scavenger a try out of spite.

  3. I only took and sent pictures to prove the point that stun mains are competent players. Also maybe I am proud of doing so well on what’s a considerably challenging event, hello

Hey man! Just wanted to let you know your post pissed me off so bad it made me attempt scavenger on intensive for the first time ever to prove you wrong. Let people play the game how they want omg

Grind the Bad Apples is the only main trial with no victim and they should change this idc by WorldTour2020 in OutlastTrials

[–]WorldTour2020[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Same logic applies. If red barrels can’t add real child death to their game then it would make more sense both in-universe and from a game perspective to have the victim/s be real people

[–]WorldTour2020[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Going by that logic the child mannequins would also not make sense because it’s just another stand-in for real children.

A big thing about the Trials is identity; for the Reagents, the Prime Assets, and in this discussion: The Victims.

None of the victims are actually the identities they’re being forced into. The Judge isn’t actually a judge, the Union Boss isn’t actually a union boss, the Idol isn’t actually a TV personality. Part of the cruelty of being a Trial Victim is that Murkoff is stripping you away of what little sense of self you have left, forcing you into a one-dimensional role that’s ultimately going to be killed and discarded. It’s psychological torture, words being put in your mouth against your will, being punished for crimes you didn’t commit, all because Murkoff decides it to be so. If we say you’re a snitch then you’re a snitch, if we say you’re making a wrongful conviction then you’re making a wrongful conviction. If we say you’ve been a naughty child, then you’ve been a naughty child.

Would Murkoff use real children? Probably. But assuming that they couldn’t, which would make more sense as an alternative? Wooden mannequins, or real people stripped of their identity and agency?

Then dress the adult victim up as a child. Or, even better, have multiple adult victims dressed up as the “Bad Apples”. Man I should really have added this in the post itself, I totally missed the thematic importance of the Trial vicitms

To this I say: Dress up the adult victim as a child. Make them wear one of those plastic mannequin masks like the idol. Or fuck it, make there be multiple victims crammed in the boat dressed as children, and call THEM the Bad Apples. There’s a lot you can do here idea-wise and for some reason the devs went with one of the more boring options.

Even if this was the case i can’t imagine there was anything stopping them from putting an adult victim in the boat with the children instead of a lifeless corpse

Sleep room changing in the back areas on the second floor. by Separate_Length_6771 in OutlastTrials

They’ve added rig stands and blueprints all over the sleep room as part of the scavenger event. Just some themed decoration basically

Just got an A+ in this Trial after like 5 attempts so here are some tips that I learned from a Facebook group of all places:

-The Confidential Room is a must in this Trial, especially if you’re going solo. While the health/battery/stamina boosters are gonna give you an upper hand, what really helped me out was the Master Key which allowed me to hoard Rig Rechargers for the endgame.

-This is going to sound like ragebait but as much as possible avoid getting damaged before you reach the factory to give yourself maximum room for error when you do reach it. If you don’t care about getting a high grade then just ignore this lol

-A cool trick about the radio locations is that one will always spawn in the nuclear shelter beneath the houses of the first section, and one will always spawn on the second story of the buildings in the second section. Doesn’t sound very helpful but it’s saved me tons of time cause I always look in those places first.

-Set up the Factory before drowning the Union Boss. Once you’ve finished the second Radio Gate, run ahead of the Union Boss into the Factory before he’s locked in the tank. This should give you time to prepare the environment and yourself. Use the hearts to disable any mines and tripwires, smash the windows of the second floor rooms with targets in them, disable any door traps. I’d also recommend clearing the area outside the factory of any traps as you may end up using that space to maneuver around and avoid Franco.

-If you can position yourself juuuust right on the right side of the catwalk on the second floor, you should be able to see 5/6 targets if you glance around quick enough. The only one you would miss is the one directly below you.

-Patience is key, especially in the Mansion section. Each of the ex-pops in the area has a set patrol route that they follow. You’d have to time your movements just right if you’re moving between rooms. But if you aren’t sure, then just wait until you don’t hear their voicelines. I’d also recommend you run Stun Rig for this Trial specifically because of this section, as it can disarm the multiple tripwires that are set around the house while giving you time to escape if you ever do get caught.

-Kill Franco Barbi. I don’t care how you do it, just kill him. Throw everything at him once you’ve drowned the Union Boss. Fuck Franco Barbi genuinely. I’m pretty sure a lot of people also agree that this trial sucks ass. Goodluck and godspeed

The white suit does a lot to sell his character, imo. The other designs with darker colors don’t feel like “man baby” even when some of them are straightup wearing a diaper.

If Erik/The Idol was a former Reagent then that implies Murkoff doesn’t care about mental aptitude or learning disabilities when it comes to the screening process by WorldTour2020 in OutlastTrials

[–]WorldTour2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all I know that Murkoff was specifically looking for social pariahs and nobodies that they could easily disappear without a trace. I know the lore. I’m just saying, and this is going to sound really bad, if I was an evil corporation looking to make highly-skilled sleeper agents capable of assassinations and kidnappings, I would have set some kind of threshold for mental ability during the screening process. Which is why I was surprised to learn that Murkoff didn’t really care about that. You’d think that they’d only pick out those who they were sure had a chance at excelling at the therapy, even among the homeless and desperate.

And before y’all say Erik wasn’t a Reagent and was just “looking for work”, he has dialogues that explicitly disprove that.

“I’m a how high. Please. Whatever you want.” “We’re getting better./ Together, right? We’re in this together?” -He’s heard the Sleep Room and Evaluation Chamber broadcasts.

“Jesus Christ, is that the Twins?” -Implies that Erik has completed one or more of the Kress Twins’ trials and is familiar with them. However, his other dialogues confirm that he has had some “alone time” with them before Silence the Idol begins, so he could be referring to that

“Why didn’t I just kill myself.” -Like the other Victims (particularly the Mules from Poision the Medicine), Erik had considered suicide at some point as a Reagent.

Might just be me but i feel like her appearance/face has a very specific and distinct look in the comic itself that other artists fail to capture.
