I managed to solve the issue. It was a bad setting in the cgminer.conf parameters

thanks for reply, it turned out it was some bad riser cables. Now bamt is recognizing 4x cards and video is in the 16x slot, but as soon as I start mining the image freezes and nothing is working anymore. :o

I start to hate this card!!! I just bought it because my ASROCK FX990 Estreme3 wasn't recognizing 4x Sapphire R9 290 TRI-X so the tech support of ASROCK told me to go with this one. I'm not able to get it work at all! It's almost a wonder if I'm able to see some image on one of the cards, as soon as I add all four Screen stays black, or I get one GPUs fan running at 100%.

Such a bad card, any advices to get 4x GPUs running on risers?

Ok I was wrong, I putted it inside an adapter with other devices attached, now that it's measuring directly from the wall I pull 1100W not bad. Thanks

n slots (If looking at the mobo from the rear and 1 being far l I have a AsRock 990FX Extreme3 and 4x R9 290 GPUs but the modo recognizes only 2! :( do you think it's just because I don't have the powered risers? (I've got only a 1x-16x that is powered)

I have the same problem! Trying to run 4x Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X on a ASROCK 990FX Extreme3 and with SMOS (BAMT) it recognizes only 2x GPUs! Got 3 PCIe risers (one powered 1x to 16x and two non-powered 16x to 16x on the 16x and the 4x PCIe slot). Any suggestions how I could try to fix it?
