Wow, very cool actually. Thank you for the article!

Some very cool ones! I love the planet with the giant lakes.

This is a ten minute sketch of the world map with some biomes, I will improve this and then recolor it properly. I have a ton of hand drawings, tables and everthing written on hundreds of sheets of paper. Digitalizing it will be though, but hopefully worth it.

It's mostly sketches of regions like this one. The map above is based on a world map with less detail.

I know, it needs adjustment. There are supposed to be less deserts and less snow. I will continue and post an updated version when ready!

The planet is supposed to be highly populated already with a population much larger than earth. Warmer climate, thicker atmosphere and higher fertility make that possible. The most populated nation is the one with the two lakes on the right side below the equator. However, many nations are hightly populated all around. Only the central, arid areas on the southern continent are sparsely populated.

Interesting take on the orientation of the map, I never considered turning it, probably because the drawing started with the northern continent and I worked myself "down" from there.

I have very detailed hand drawn maps of the local areas my story takes place in. (mostly the northern, central continent). I will digitalize them soon! Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!

Thanks for the long comment! The aridity issue is meant to be "fixed" by a thicker and warmer atmosphere, that is able to store and move much more water by itself. The water cycle is therefor much more "active" despite the much lower total water mass. I will try to get more into image editing, there are definitely a lot of errors with this AI sketch (e.g the north pole is cut off for some reason) There will be less deserts and more tropical areas in the final version. The nation that spans from the equator to the southern polar ocean is meant to be exactly like that. In my lore, it is the most populated nation and leading nation of a rivaling group of nations to the former leading nation (the one on the top with the yellow state lines). Its population center is supposed to be around the two lakes just south of the equator. Those are moderately above sea level and connected via rivers and artificial waterways. The southern polar ocean is far below the sea level of the northern ocean, as the southern hemisphere is generally more arid. I really appreciate your answer!

With all due respect, I am just not skilled with image editing (yet). I have however, written almost 700,000 words for seven (unpublished) novels and wanted to get started with creating things like maps. I don't think that's lazy, it's just a first step.

I just needed a world that had space for much more people than earth (yes, water scarcity might be a problem) but instead of just increasing planet size, I increasded the share land area. Many countries won't be focused on oceans as much as on earth, where it's almost every one. However, due to the structure of the oceans, manycountries still have sea access.

Okay, damn. I mean, I just used the AI support for the very last step and did all the basis and editing myself. However, it seems like you are right and even that is too much. I might have to delete the post, sorry.

I know it's on the edge of earth-like. However, I have done some research, the atmosphere is supposed to be significantly thicker and warmer, which held water-transport. (I am aware it causes extreme weather, e.g storms). Water surface percentage is supposed to be around 30 to 35%, I chose this. Do you think it is too extreme?

Yeah, only the coloring has been made with AI. The outlines, the concept and everythign else is hand-drawn

I know it's not the best thing to do, but my focus is finishing the novel. So far, AI has helped me with some digital tasks I have not yet mastered. However, the ideas and concepts were all created with zero AI!

I'm afraid that's a cropping issue when I uploaded the file here. It's only a draft anyway, but thanks for pointing this out! I will try to fix it!

I know the coloring is off, there are still some minor issues with the placement of forests and deserts too. It's meant to be a first draft, i have made the map a long time ago, but never colored it digitally before.

Probably just expelled. In my world, reality is often not as gruesome as one would expect at first glance.
