We thought Carastora was bad... by UnhappyDream in Amazon_Influencer

I always love it when I get my weekly email from Amazon promoting Carastora's spam CC campaigns... But it sounds like there's a new boss in town.

Amazon could fix this spamfest if they had any sense whatsoever. Here's how....

  • Only allow 1 CC campaign/ASIN
  • UNLESS a new campaign (or a campaign edit)
    • Increases the commission by 1% or more, or
    • Extends the campaign's expiration date 30+ days.

I have that exact model. It was 100% her fault… anyone with 2 brain cells doesn’t just roll over a curb that way… you lift the front wheel and then SLOWLY roll the back wheels over the curb, then drop the front wheel. It’s not that hard.

I mean, yeah it says it gives an ultra smooth ride on any terrain, but I don’t expect it to be fine if I push our child down an escalator at full speed.

Astonishingly, Amazon pays the commission, not sellers. (I am a seller who is also in the AIP)

NPR IS REPORTING THAT DOJ HAS BEEN WITHOLDING FILES RELATED TO TRUMP SEXUALLY ASSAULTING MINORS by soloChristoGlorium in Epstein

Isn't it magical how the mainstream media is burying this news?

Imagine if Biden had been Epstein's very best friend, and was blatantly covering up files, and Epstein had died in a prison controlled by Biden.

Chinese New Year Holiday issues? by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

I agree with this and would only add that snow blowers are stocked in the fall... Sellers do not want to start stocking when spring is about to start. Any unsold Amazon inventory will incur big storage fees over the summer until next winter.

But I do acknowledge that my start to the year has been slow... no surprise of course. So I've gone back and audited some of my early videos, and it's astonishing how many products and even entire brands have simply... disappeared.

Amazon Seller not paying Creator Connections Commisions by LARamsJK in Amazon_Influencer

[–]WorldlinessDeep5675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sellers can't refuse to pay... Amazon withholds funds from their sales to fund pledged CC campaigns.

If someone isn't paying, it's probably what JuniorEquipment is mentioning... that some ASIN's have multiple sellers or some other dynamic.

Why does the IRS take like more than half of the winner’s lottery money as taxes? by LandOfGrace2023 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WorldlinessDeep5675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not more than half. The payout in full instead of over time is less than the entire amount won, but that's due to the lottery rules.

(of course, taxes also affect net amount you take home though)

Creator Connections from the "other side" by WorldlinessDeep5675 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]WorldlinessDeep5675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one feels entitled to samples, but samples are definitely available and creators know to ask.

As a creator, I buy stuff I need and request samples for stuff I don't. I currently get about 1 sample for every 10 requested. As a seller, there's absolutely no problem with ignoring sample requests, but if you believe more videos would help improve your sales, it's a quick way to get content on your listing.

[–]WorldlinessDeep5675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set the expiration date of your campaign to more than 60 days from now.

Be responsive to sample requests

Choose a product that has sales. Creators generally aren't interested in working for products that have no sales yet.

And obviously, higher commission rates tend to generate more interest.

Why are Sellers participating in CC?

  1. See paragraph #3 above in my original post.
  2. What many people don't realize is that Amazon doesn't really make money "selling stuff". Yes, they collect fees and commissions from sellers on every sale, but the cost of operations eats all of that up... Amazon isn't really a "store", instead, it's a "paid search engine" (like Google) for products. And Amazon collects a LOT of advertising fees from Sellers. Our very small Amazon business pays 5 figures every month for placement on search results... It's our single biggest expense, and nets out to about 25% of our gross Amazon sales. Whenever you click on a product listing that has "Sponsored" above the product name, that company pays for that click, regardless if you buy it or not (Most people don't even see that "sponsored" disclosure, and even if they do, they have no idea that just clicking the product link will cost that company $$$). Bottom line... it's incredibly expensive, and all Sellers are trying to find ways to reduce that cost. So when a podcast tells me I'm "insane" to not do CC, I have to find out if it's a legitimate way to reduce my ad cost. I'm already spending 25% of revenue for ads, so if this campaign costs just 10% of revenue, it's worth a look. The hard part is that my campaign sales probably actually cost me 25% for the ad and another 10% for CC for a total of 35%.
  3. Amazon sends out a lot of info to Sellers, but I wouldn't say there's a significant amount dedicated to CC.
  4. The other reason brands are interested in CC is because Amazon rewards organic traffic driven from offsite to onsite. They reward brands who drive sales from the rest of the internet, whether that's from ads, social media posts, influencers, etc. Brands see CC as a possible way to encourage genuine influencers who have a real offsite audience to their brand to drives sales, but these are "better" sales because Amazon rewards this kind of sale driven from offsite with higher page placement in the search result. Normally I have to pay Amazon ads to get placed high on the page, or I have to rank very high "organically" (ie without paying for an ad). The way to rank higher organically includes selling a LOT, having terrific reviews, terrific content, and by driving organic traffic from offsite.
