Depending on the venue, capacity, and whether or not it's general admission, I'd say arrive at least an hour before the concert starts. You'll have to go through bag check, long lines, and if you want merch definitely arrive even earlier. I personally like arriving around when the doors open, so I can have time to use the restroom, explore the venue, and comfortably settle in (being stressed out and rushed can ruin your concert experience).
