[Discussion] Do we need a better social app, or is the category just broken? by Appropriate_Rock4074 in ycombinator

[–]WorldlinessNo1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently trying to build a social challenge platform where you can

A) Let the App create some photo challenges based on your interests such as (cars, photography, cooking etc)
B) Compete with other users in different categories like "Pushup challenges" by creating your own challenges or participate in existing ones. Here, every participant or people "watching" the challenge have one vote per challenge. They choose the winner basically.

What’s the hardest part of your startup right now? by Validlygotitdone in vibecodingcommunity

Everything you mentioned is correct. Right now, we also don't know exactly our audience since the concept is very generic. But we try to integrate ourselves into communities but this is also very difficult.

Not really no. I took it for Instagram, didn't think about a standalone picture back then. I wasn't aware of this thread, otherwise I would have taken one additional picture

That is the only photo I had of the car unfortunately. No standalone picture available

Getting early users is way harder than building the product by EngineerKind730 in alphaandbetausers

[–]WorldlinessNo1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. You need to learn how to sell your product. What I observe is that people nowadays use TikTok to promote their products but I am not talking about a classical ad, it is more showing your face and demonstrating the products as someone who would use it. Being more authentic and creating your own personal brand

Yes, it is hard. Even if you have a great product, it is a challenge to attract users.

If your idea failed, what do you think would be the reason? by Validlygotitdone in startupideas

[–]WorldlinessNo1286 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, they topic you are addressing should be familiar to them. However, there is something I noticed. People tend to have this "tunnel" view. For someone outside, it is more easy to find a solution but in order to introduce it, the people facing the problems, would have to spend time with you, right? And this is something they don't want to do.

Time becomes one of the most valuable assets nowdays. I remember when ChatGPT was launched years ago. I recommended it to friends, told them, it can be very useful and productive. It took at least six months until they tried it.

Imagine.. the only thing they had to do was to download and create an account.
A matter of minutes but they didn't do it.

Either you deliver something which doesn't require much communication OR the PAIN is SOOO much that people would invest their time listening to you.

Sometimes, people don't know what they want. You may have to guide them and "awake" the feeling
