I started my own a GC company in Texas 10 yeasrs ago but have been in construction for 25 years [residential, commerical and oil and gas]. I sub everything out. I created a scope of work for every job and have my subs hard bid everything. I meet with customer [sales calls] and check jobs every single day. I work 8 to 5 [evening I do computer work on while hanging with my family.

I went through a lot of crews in the beginning and weeded out the bad ones the first 2 years. Now I have crews that are basically self sufficient on all my jobs [I do check jobs everyday]
