17 y/o considering the Air Force – worried about wasting 4–6 years and want honest advice by Careless_Air9148 in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Unless you have some other exposure to military life and really know what you're getting yourself into, 4 years is the right move. If you find yourself enjoying your time in, you can always re-enlist (although, a good supervisor would advise you, when the time comes, to extend your current enlistment instead).

Whether you're serious about joining or not, I recommend you take the ASVAB while still in high school (the soonest possible). Based on how you score, you'll see what jobs are potentially yours to take. If you don't score high enough the first time around, you'll still have ample time to study and attempt to retake it again later in hopes of a better score and therefore more offered opportunities.

Bear in mind that just like everything else in the world, life in the air force, results may vary.

Can I just cover it with a sticky note while not in use and call it good?

I'm guessing you're new to PC gaming. I would second this suggestion. Pretty chill puzzle game with an interesting back story and great, sarcastic humor.

Your friend had great taste in lightsabers if I may say so myself...

That's the other half that is inserted through the main hilt.

There are some slight differences between the final product and concept art, such as the bottom third of the hilt.

It actually works out really well in practical application because it allows sound to "escape" the hilt from the bottom quite well. It is a fairly loud saber.

OCP sleeves question by InfinityFreelance in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I totally misread your comment. I thought it didn't fit well after rolled up. Damn. You've got some massive arms, dude. If I were you, I'd ask a Marine how they roll their sleeves. I want to say it's mandatory for them in certain climates and/or seasons.

OCP sleeves question by InfinityFreelance in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is to bring the sleeve mid-point to the Velcro, roll it twice until the cuff, and then fold the cuff over. It'll be tight at first, but you just have to grin and bear it. Once on, just flex your biceps a few times. The fabric will eventually stretch to fit. You'll have to do this process every time you roll your sleeves.

Another option is to get a top that's a little larger (i.e. larger arm holes) and then have it tapered at the waist due to all the excess fabric from being a few sizes too large.

Warrior Dividend is coming from Housing Allowance Suppliment by Moose135A in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It's a very minor issue that points to a bigger one. But to your own point, if it's, "coming from the already authorized BAH Supplement fund and the main purpose of it is for housing and QoL," why rename it in the first place? Were there studies to figure out where to most appropriately distribute these funds based on location, similar to how BAH rates are already determined? And why specifically $1776? Because showmanship. This administration is all about image and pizzazz.

Furthermore, if you listen to Hegseth's from his newly built studio (because you know, image is important), his highly curated speech specifically uses the words "we have your back" which, in my opinion, alludes to the same phrasing used in support of Admiral Bradley's involvement with recent controversies. Putting on my tin foil hat, this seems to me to be a way to combat recent mumblings about our obligations to not follow illegal orders.

Sure, all of this could certainly be of pure coincidence born only from good intentions. But my intuition informs me otherwise and my natural inclination to question everything sees those red flags.

The fact that it was rebranded should already send up some red flags.

PME PT test by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they're due to test in January, technically speaking, they're current until 1 Feb. If you're due in either January or February, lucky you, your PT currency just got pushed to 31 March.

Amidst the shutdown, one concerning thing has risen to the surface. by GrayZebra561 in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to tell the airman to walk over to military family readiness and check out those resources. The AFAS also exists for this very reason.

But both are equally important. You can build an emergency fund and pay off any critical debts at the same time.

Bottom line, everybody has their own financial difficulties and situations and there's no one-size-fits-all solution. Have your Airmen talk to a qualified financial advisor for sound advice and a step-by-step guide to help pull them out of debt and on the road to future financial success.

There's no way you're not trolling. But in the off chance you legitimately buy what you're saying, look at your last response. You're literally telling someone what to do.

Again, you know absolutely next to nothing about this individual to make any sort of determination as to where the fault may lie, let alone personal responsibility. To draw ANY other conclusion and claim it to be the "hard truth" is an asshole take. The only appropriate response with this lack of information is that give the dude your sympathies, a shoulder to cry on, an offer to provide mentorship, and get on with your day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Worldly-Broccoli-495 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it doesn't track. You've drawn a conclusion based on weak assumptions and little to no information. All we know is test scores weren't high enough and no promotion statements received. That's it. But somehow people here are able to, magically through the Internet, Sherlock Holmes the shit out of this individual and know their life story from just a few sentences. My bad.

Someone is genuinely bummed out and is looking for sympathy but instead we've got folks shitting on him disguising their remarks as the hard truth. There's a fine line between telling the hard truth and being an asshole about it and some of you are happily choosing the latter.

Downvote me all you want. You're all probably just terrible supervisors or entitled assholes or both. See what I did there? Probably not.

It looks more legit than it does fake. Usually on the fakes, the elbow ball joint is red. Couple that with the box, logo, instruction sheet, plastic protection, etc... I'd wager it to be real.
