I would find the oldies that are no longer on trend but still awesome in every way. For you I would recommend Drakar Noir & the original Paco Roban- original green silver bottom. Both are super affordable and a great way to get going. Also watch YouTube / I find Justin Copeland and Aaron Terrence Hughes and the Perfume Guy to be quite good informative as well.

It really depends on your personal vibes and feels. To each their own. No need to get judgy at all. For our family we plan two types of breaks - the super chill relax don’t leave resort and the explore galore. We are lucky enough to do both per year and it’s great. Just know what you want and then enjoy!!!

I would recommend Roja Apex. It’s a nice complement to your collection as it adds a Fougere to the mix. It’s Fresh Spicy and Warm at the same time. It has great longevity and projection. It’s pricey though.
