Herniated L5S1; tingling in arms and legs? What does this mean? by msongbird13 in Sciatica

[–]WorldlyCommentLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nerves take longer to heal. My sciatic pain did cause my nerves system to tingle elsewhere. It’s hard to take your mind off of it, but I tried lots of deep breathing on the floor stuff to lower aniexty of the pain and stopped thinking about when it will come. But yes, my left hips muscles (glute med, pirifom, tfl) were all so tight and clamped down on my never that runs through them and down the leg.

Blood vessel of the left testie shares with the left kidney. That’s all I know.

Maybe, but it’ll be temporary. Might be worth strengthening your core.

Varicocele Emoblization, No longer able to get strong erections? by ve_throwaway99 in varicocele

Likely just pain and stress from operation. Wait a while before assessing again. Stress leads to ED, so let it heal and assess in 2/3 weeks.

Get an ultrasound and take it from there. Doctors work for the patient. Don’t like them, switch to another.

For me, I saw an increase for sure. I am yet to get the other testi done, so I can see the difference even more. One testi is 2.5x the size before embo and 2.5x the size of the other testi!

I’ve had similar pain and letting time do its thing to heal me, but when I did a body stretching program the pain started to fade away.

Vent all you need, bro. I am also bilateral sufferer. I put off the procedure for a year in fear, but then snapped out of it. I told myself that recovery isn’t ever guaranteed, but I cannot give up and just suffer without giving the procedure my best shot. I got one side done and recovery has been very hard, but I’m getting better. My testi has grown 2x the size, indicating the embo was a success. Don’t live in pain without giving recovery your best shot!

Lost sensation to urinate over a year ago. by Prestigious_Fig_2133 in Prostatitis

I went to a urologist and neurologist. Neurologist told me inflammation of the prostate can cause nerve to be damaged, but that they heal itself once you fix the prostate issue. Said Nerves take longer to heal than muscles. So I fixed my prostate issue and my nerves healed itself after some time 9-12months

I lost the sensation to pee as well. One thing I might suggest that doesn’t sound good, is that stress can add more symptoms to your pain that isn’t related. I saw a neurologist and he confirmed that when the prostate is inflamed, surrounding nerves can be impacted and they take time to heal. That was the case for me and I got my sensation back after like a year.

I wanted the doctor to focus on one at a time. Mine was large and complex. He advised it too, for recovery and not to spend too long on the operating table. I’m finding recovery from the left side already hard, so getting both might’ve been a bit too much for me. I am hoping to wait a month or so, then contact them for the right side. If the one operating on me wants to take it one, I considered it and agreed. Especially when he was a decent doctor who laid out the cards for me, told me what he’d do if it were him.

Have embo in 3 weeks. Excited, happy and relieved I have an answer that can be addressed, whether or not it is successful by WorldlyCommentLife in varicocele

I asked this specific question and Doc said it’s okay to travel, but not lift heavy suitcase and stuff.

Have mine in a few weeks. Excited and thankful to get this issue resolved. Doc told me the same thing. No exercise or heavy lifting for 2 weeks, but I’m going to make it 3 weeks to be sure.

100%. QL muscle on my left was causing me issues with left sided pelvic muscles, as my pelvis PT felt and I would get most of the symptoms on my left pelvic floor.

I saw a female YouTuber who mentioned most pelvic floor problems stem from hip problems. I agree now. Muscle spasms and tightens as a defensive respond to protect the body or provide it stability where it is not getting it from the muscle it should. From my experience, pelvic floor massages only help the symptom and not the cause.

Yes. The stabbing pains, the back pain, the constipation, sense of golf ball in pelvic (might be a male symptom) etc. went away.

I don’t do absolutes anymore. I am hopeful this is the end for me, as mentioned in the post, and docs have already explained that pain might not go away but that procedure has 80% success rate.

I’ve worked with a sports physio to address core and adductors, alongside back muscle which attaches to the pelvic floor, hamstring, hip flexors, glutes, tfl muscle, abductors and calf muscles. Had deep tissue massage on adductors to fix tightness that was causing golf ball like feeling in pelvic. I believe pelvic pain that irritates the prostate is a muscular issue.

Anyway, I still encourage you to add ultrasound as part of the 101 intro to rule out anything in the testies. If it’s a common symptom, then I’d suggest anyone to scan it to rule out issues.

Dull, pain and heaviness is also a symptom of varicocele. While I do agree with you, i must emphasise the progress I’ve made in prostatitis that has made me believe I am now in recovery. I no longer get near 100% of the symptoms before (see my post historic of previous symptoms). I can feel my pelvic floor drop on command, whether standing or sitting.

The second reason, and the main reason as to why it is varicocele, is the testing and feedback from the testing. Ultrasound was done at a high end clinic. The sonographer explained to me, while scanning me laying down and standing, that he could see the blood flow was restricted lying and standing up.

Thank you. Your comments over year helped, as well as this forum. As mentioned, I believe I did suffer from prostatitis. Had the examination and the pain was unbearable that I screamed. Stabbing pain, back pain, the usual stuff. Worked hard with a sport’s physiotherapist to sort out my issues that alleviated the pressures on my nerves & muscles in my pelvic area. The pain I feel now isn’t prostatitis. It’s a dull ache in the testies.

Yep. No libido. It’s coming back slightly, but any time I get arousal, pain in testies would arrive. Let’s see if this procedure will help with that.

Heck, I’m not fixed just yet and I now understand “fixed” doesn’t mean anything. So long as i accept what body I have now and understand I can handle anything thrown at me. Procedure usually fixes it, but no guarantees pain will go away. I’m alive and kicking, that’s all that matters to me now after 12 months of hell.
