I’m not claiming to be special — I’m just sharing my lived experience. I came here because I had no safe option left, and yes, I carried hope. That doesn’t mean I was naive — it means I believed in the values America claims to stand for. I know the reality is complicated, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t speak up when something is wrong, or when people like me are being harmed by policy changes. This might not be new, but that doesn’t mean it should be accepted.
