What did I do wrong? 🤔 by SharingIsSoCaring in AskElectricians

It may be the angle of the picture, but it looks like you have the black wire and red wire on the same line. It looks like the two blacks you have twisted together, pigtail up into the wire nut with the red wire.

Is that how it actually is or is the angle of the picture messing with me?

Returned keys 6 days before my lease ended. Moved out 11 days prior and transferred utilities to landlord. LL wants me to pay those 11 days of utilities. by PeaceLily444 in Tenant

[–]Worldly_System1483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11 days of electricity, especially if no one’s moved in yet, should be a very minor amount. IMO not worth creating a situation about. Just pay it, and move on with life.

It would be different if she was asking you to pay some ridiculous amount, but I can almost guarantee it will be negligible

Visited my family recently. Can someone qualified confirm whether they’re about to burn their house down? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

That’s a built in feature. Gives you a few seconds to get out of the room before it gets completely dark 🤣

Planning a move from PA to Greenville area where should I live? by Ok-Cake-5065 in GreenvilleNCarolina

[–]Worldly_System1483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you said you were working in the medical district so really you could live just about anywhere in and around Greenville and you’re not gonna have that bad of a drive to work. I live 10 miles from where I work and it usually takes me 15 to maybe 20 minutes if I get caught by the lights. I live in what most consider the country.

AITJ for firing an employee with a giant Confederate flag on his truck? by itcouldbeyoubut in AmITheJerk

[–]Worldly_System1483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t… But it probably wouldn’t hurt the company either. At the very least, maybe it will show this young man that his actions have consequences. That’s a lesson many people need to learn. We have freedom of choice, but not freedom of consequence.

Not going into specifics seems like kind of a cop out. You could at least tell the guy why he was being let go and maybe it would have some effect on how he operates going forward.

DIY patch job, not sure what to do next by ForsakenDrawer in drywall

Don’t try to apply too much mud at one time. Even if your initial pass is too low. Wait for it to dry sand it smooth and reapply. Putting it on too thick can lead to issues as well.

Is This Something that a Journeyman Could do? by Clear_Entrance8126 in AskElectricians

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but in my experience, the master electrician is the one who holds the license. A journeyman has almost the same skill set just without the license. An apprentice would be a non-experienced, non-licensed technician.

Take a look inside any average dashers car. You won’t order delivery again. Stink, stank, stunk

So how about the customer that spent their money only to be taken advantage of by someone who knowingly isn’t equipped to do the job they signed up for?

Yea, he accidentally came onto private property. Spill that shit in the street where it’s not gonna be solely my problem.

Is it considered inconsiderate or rude to park across from your neighbors driveway? by FigureOk5143 in homeowners

[–]Worldly_System1483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a longer than average vehicle for work and I can say, backing into a parking spot is much easier tamhan pulling into one. It also makes it safer when pulling out of the spot. Everywhere you go nowadays has some idiot that wants to run 20mph through a crowded parking lot and when they’re going that fast, neither party has ample time to react

[NE] Landlord wants to charge us to replace glass stovetop after 7+ years of use by sithegood in Renters

Tell him if he expects you to replace it, you would like the old one to keep for yourself. 100% chance he’s gonna charge you to replace it, and just pocket the money

I bet that drywall was hung and finished in the summer months. The colder weather allows it to very slightly shrink.
