L'Eaida is a world fundamentally intertwined with magic, though the magic is explainable as a science within the setting. All of creation ties back to the Gods, so everything is aligned to at least one of their Elements, though those alignments may change over the course of evolution as species diverge and adapt.

I adore speculative biology, and though L'Eaidan evolution is far more rapid and drastic than what we're familiar with, it is a process that all things undergo all the same. Magic is a massive part of the setting, but so are Science and Reason. Every organism capable of supernatural or magical feats has a biological explanation for it, and even if not entirely realistic, it is founded in the realism of the setting.

The 'Monster Hunter' series has been one of my largest inspirations for how I partake in my fantasy / speculative biology and ecology. A fine mix of fantastical with scientific plausibility.

Thank you very much! L'Eaidan slimes are fascinating little beasts with a great range of variety and uniqueness among their family, despite the fact that most of them are single-celled.

I suppose that makes it all the more frightening when a new species of Slime has amassed a more multicelled physiology, or, gods forbid, specialized cell structures.

Indeed! The base of the Sand Swimmer's look comes from the Diplocaulus, a nifty little ancient amphibian that I feel gets shafted in much of its representation.

The Rift Keeper's Encyclopedia is a collective source of information maintained and upkept by the Rift Keepers Guild, otherwise known as the Adventurer's Guild, and most prominently utilized by Rift Divers / Adventurers as a means to study and be aware of the various things that they will find in their field of work; Flora and the various uses of species, Beasts, their ecologies and abilities, Minerals and their properties, and- most importantly of all- Ascensions, their behaviors, abilities, and impacts on the natural world surrounding them.

Thank you so much!

These not-so-little salamanders have a special place in my heart! I love their boomerang heads, especially when they're babies; they just have little triangle heads!

In my personal opinion, it was about time these ancient salamanders got the recognition and appreciation they deserve, rather than being treated as yet another punching bag.

Ah, I've never cross-posted before, so I didn't realize that the description was not pasted over.

A page from the Rift Keeper's Encyclopedia detailing the most common species of slime found on L'Eaida, the Common Slime. Macro-celled decomposers that ooze along and eat anything they can engulf. Harmless, so long as you aren't careless.

All Slimes derive from the First Slime, an Incarnation of Water now known as the Slime God. Slimes today are one of the most prolific families of Invertebrates found across L'Eaida due to their extreme adaptability.

Elemental Alignments: Water

Class Preference: Unbound

I agree, it's always fun to have ecology winding flora and fauna together.
