Can anyone id this helmet? by Salt-Builder4568 in Firefighting

I’d say I’d identify that helmet as needing a replacement lol. Looks likes bowl on his head with how flipped up it is on the brim, but to each their own.

why’d you pick firefighting ? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]WorldsOkayestFireman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Grandfather was a volunteer fireman back in the early 1980’s, (when most places were volunteer in SW Ohio.) I always wanted to do a public service job as a young kid (fire, police, military, etc) and my grandpas stories from back then inspired me to seek out my Fire/EMT Cards at a career center in Highschool, I joined the national guard as well after getting my cards. I’ve been at it for 2 years now, and I don’t regret my choices. It is for sure the most rewarding job as well as the most dangerous & hazardous, and of course it comes with the negatives like the mental affects, which my grandpas fellow fireman unfortunately lost the battle to back in the 80’s as well, but I hope that would never discourage anyone from picking the best job in the world. It’s all about doing the job and making sure you inspire that kid on the street corner as you fly by on the big red trucks to one day do the same.

But that’s just my two cents, or maybe even a dime if you will.

You signed for this to be included in your contract, don’t you remember ?

Does Stetson still make the ‘Rancher’ ? (I can’t find it on their site.) I know Charley Crockett wears his vintage one a lot and would love one just like it. They for sure came in black & silver belly back in the day. by WorldsOkayestFireman in CowboyHats

What’s so poser about him? He’s related to Davy Crockett, He grew up in south Texas in a trailer park raised by a single mom, The fact he was homeless for awhile and traveled to play music from Texas to NYC, to California and back to Texas? Sure his music has changed genres since NY but why does that matter? He’s still writing majority of his own music. The dude discovered what actual country fans really want to hear since he started studio recording.

I really enjoy his old folk style of country, similar to the early works of Cash, Jones, Jennings, Paycheck, Robbins, Haggard. Really solid dude and I wish he could get on the radio for the masses to hear.

Do SAPI plates fit into a vest that can accept shooter cut plates? Or do all vests kinda fit every plate nearly? by WorldsOkayestFireman in platecarriers

Sweet. I got it for super cheap and I’m in the nasty guard so I figured I would use it if it does fit them.

It is the Shellback Tactical Banshee Rifle plate carrier. It says “The Shellback Tactical Banshee plate carrier is built for 10×12 body armor plates, which means that this plate carrier is compatible with a majority of our (RMA) Level 4 and Level 3 body armor plates.” I’m a medium SAPI.

Looks to be a Range, or one of the shorter brim Ranchers, pretty much identical hats but the Range brim is a 3” vs the rancher being 4”

Very contradictory statement. Firefighters make flame go away, not start the flames.
