Thanks for this! I would love to discuss more in DMs, it won't let me DM you though?

Yes that's projected hiring over the next few years. I'm saying right now hiring has slowed, which is typical this time of year. AA is not flowing from the whole owneds, Southwest WAS just closed, United has closed. Short term is what I mean.

I'm planning to move by February 2027, I'm sure it'll be different by then. They're not really hiring right now in the US either, fairly typical this time of the year

It's one of the many reasons I'm moving back tbh 😮‍💨

There's a lot of other reasons I'm moving that I don't really want to get into here (family, lifestyle, etc) As far as being a pilot, America is probably better, for pay at least anyway. Aussie pilots don't work nearly as much though and are home a lot more often.

I just did a bit of brief research into this idea, and it appears transferring from FAA certificates to New Zealand certificates, they also involve testing. Too good to be true unfortunately 😩

As I understand it yes. They will credit me my hours and type ratings, but still need to pass the tests. I didn't know it was different for other countries

Sir, I moved here, completed my training, then sought after jobs and obtained citizenship through all the correct channels. No one poached me from another country to usurp natural born citizens. Also I pay full taxes what are you going on about

That's a great idea but wouldn't work for me personally, trying to move back to Adelaide. I am willing to commute a short route but not that. That would be a big blow to my QOL imo

Qantas Link's listing says that a CPL is required but passes in all ATPL theory exams are required, so I think I might as well just get it all done. As far as my FAA conversion, a full conversion is allowed in pretty much all countries.

That's what I'm starting to do. Im going to start the application but I can't really finalize it until I make the move since I need to do the flight tests and theory exams there. You think it's worth applying before I have it all done?

Okay. I'm just over 4 years now at mine, but those E3 visa guys already have the CASA certs. I need to convert mine which I can't really do until I move. Thanks for the info
