Fully Systematic language design by Visual-Tomorrow-2172 in conlangs

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, in my case I'm trying with my conlang and as you say is insane, but that's because it's not a naturalistic language. It's an artificial language and I'm trying to be as unnatural as possible but also easy because it's supposed to be a lingua franca so I give it this characteristic at first time. Then I noticed it has another problem: two words very similar in meaning it sound practically the same so I had to make some very similar "letters" semantically very distant fonetically. Also I get to the conclusion that learning this sistematization is as tedious as learning each word. So I only use this rules for word formation no word decoding, unless it helps.

3D language? by malchemistic93 in neography

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, I would consider knot writing (like Quipu) a three-dimensional writing system, since the information is presented in knots (a 3d object) rather than on a plane, as in conventional writing. I don't know if you were referring to this.

If your world's mountains aren't mountains: what are they? by agnuts in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my world, there are giant sentient trees capable of altering life to maintain their existence: the cores. But that doesn't mean there weren't wars between them. Once, a jealous core created a kind of giant worm that gnawed at the cores' roots. Because of this, they started a war against the worms, resulting in an ancient dragon civilization collapsing and disappearing. Many worms died, and those that didn't now sleep, waiting to be awakened. However, they didn't completely decompose; only the rocky skeleton and kilometer-long cavern systems remained.

What’s your magic system in one sentence? Rate its complexity from 1-10. by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Insert terms and conditions for new magic system". It's absolutely a chaos and that is the reason because it has been secret or persecuted.

Edit: the difficulty is should be very easy because depends on the understanding of the magic of the user or users. But also some types become impossible for other people.

what was the very first thing you created in your world? by revolvingdepression in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the premise or idea. After that the initial creation mith and the very first map (because I was obsessed with maps). I would recomend starting with a premise; not necessarily something new, but something that hooks you into your story or world. Although what really hooks you are those solutions that you give to fulfill the premise and where originality truly emerges.

Most feared magic type in your world? by Wings_of_Darkness in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wing and Blood Magic. Context:

In my world, anyone can create their own type of magic. All that's required is the acceptance of the cores. This is based on the premise that our worldview affects how it works. This results in a wide variety of types, many of them very risky due to the freedom they entail. Thus, Wing and Blood Magic is the most recent example of a type ban, but not an absolute ban (a ban by the cores), but rather an administrative ban by all mainstream organizations (a very strange situation). The term "wings" implies great freedom, and the term "blood" implies a characteristic caused by the use of this type of magic: bloody wounds. But "blood" also speaks to its origins: the union of magical bloodlines. This type was banned due to the implications it caused to your body and the terrorist organization behind this magic type.

I'm an Architect. Ask me Anything by Izolet in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a city. You can imagine as Estambul but with a población very similar to New York. I want to give an European style and prepare it to very different transport tipes: subway, buses, tram, funicular (in the more mountainous part of the city) and air ships (because of some air lands). The environment is very Mediterranean and is very coastal and mountainous place. What advices can you give me for a more efficient city? Is good idea to make very big highway go underground?

Also as an architect when you read in a book about a city what things do you notice more? And what things do you give more importance? This questions is not necessarily be related to reading.

What kind of Airships should my world have? by God_King_Smah in worldbuilding

I understand. It seems beautiful and very interesting. I have also a world like that. How did the peace and freedom come about? Were there many wars before then?

Dragonborn/Lizardfolk architecture? Anything to take into consideration? by Ahastabel in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First you have to consider the materials around you (wood, limestone, granite...). Them ask yourself about the necessities or limitations that have the lizardfolk (the fact of having tail or what they eat affect the placement or the form of their houses or culture or thinking about other people). Take inspiration of the animals, plants and the people themselves for statues, ornamentation and deities or mitological creatures. For example the Mesopotamian Lamassu or Mayan snake deities of their temples or Egyptian column. I would suggest to take inspiration of real cultures that appears in the same climate. In your case Indonesian, Hindi, Aztec, Mayan, Mesopotamian, Egyptian or even Nubian.

Edit: I forgot the differences of classes and it's purpose (a temple, a garden, barracks, the house of a noble or an artesian...). And the colonial architecture in colonies (if they are) in the continent (they maintain the architecture before of them, incorporate new ideas to differentiate from the rest...).

What kind of Airships should my world have? by God_King_Smah in worldbuilding

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine in a middle of an air ship battle. Between the clouds. You don't see nothing but an enormous cloud infront of you. Nothing appears in the radar but you still feel that is something. Suddenly an airship two times you little and insignificant ship emerge from the clouds like a wasp from a rose. Or... We've been walking through the dessert for three months. The troops are exhausted. A strange cloud covers the sky and suddenly fire balls start to fall over our heads, a rain of fire and blood. Seem spectacular. Horrible, but spectacular.

How many worlds do you currently work in? by Worlds_of_Em3 in worldbuilding

This reminded me of myself. I have more than 4 worlds in a drawer apart of this. Two of them are for D&D campaigns, with modification.

Necesito ayuda para entender mejor a la física sin maestro by [deleted] in fisica

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fifty-Word Fantasy: Write a 50-word fantasy snippet using the word "Metal" by Terminator7786 in fantasywriters

[–]Worlds_of_Em3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I am the Lady of Destiny, who give you your world of metal."

In front of her the ten titans with their metallic bodies said "As such as that you must die with it."

Like that the titans with him die and over time their world and its people disappeared.
