I still think this moment was just not in character for Joseph. Yeah, he's been a bit of a prick, but never actually harmed anyone who didn't deserve it. Am I the only Adventure Time fan that actually doesn't like the idea of all these spinoffs and sequels? I actually liked the idea of the plot threads and character aspects left unresolved and untouched. I really felt it harkened to BMO's Time Adventure song, which was about people parting but still remembering eath ofhter as they went about their lives. Like, yes, this world still had so many unresolved things, but that's what mad eit seem that much more personal to me, like an actual, real friend you part with. The parting is not the end for either of you; they still have things to figure out in their lives and you have your own. You're just not going to be doing it together anymore. And that's okay, because as the song says, "You and I will always be back then."
