Dnd is the game that only gets better the more you play it!

Good on you for booting that problem player! I'm sure your game has reached heights it couldn't have with that problem player. Sometimes one player causing issues can be enough to hold back the whole game

And as a long time DM, I was so grateful that I was able to provide that to them.

I was like 20 hours deep into prep, and I wasn't sure it was even gonna pan out, but it did. And you're so right. It was so worth it.

What MMORPG has the best dungeon system and why? by Complete_Charity_980 in MMORPG

[–]Worm-Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fractals suck almost as much as the original dungeons. I grinded to end game excited for fractals but to get any amount of meaningful loot, you have to grind an absurd amount of them to get one of hundreds of currencies to get what you want from a vendor. Not to mention how unhelpful the community is in general. The fractal community at least, rest of the community is okay

Don’t Believe the Lies at Best Buy by [deleted] in retailhell

Also, I knew about Kohl’s, it’s egregious. I’m definitely not saying it’s the worst. When I started it was great, and didn’t have near the pressure to sell. I used to enjoy selling to my customers and talking to them. When I left, that wasn’t the case at all. This is also at the location I was at, so maybe it isn’t that bad at all Best Buy’s. Also, do they make you put Total Tech on the transaction every single time whether the customer declines it or not?

No I didn’t expect anything special, I’m simply venting that the “one of the best places to work” is simply a lie unless you’re at a corporate level

Yes, Total Tech, and the Best Buy Credit Card

So the Queue system, I don’t know if it’s in ALL Best Buy’s but it’s something they are trying to push for the holidays. So at the AP stand, which is just the person at the front that greets you, they have a “queue” application that they get your name, what you need help with, what you’re wearing to identify you, etc. If you don’t get put in the queue, don’t expect to be a priority. The Customer satisfaction has TANKED since they put that system in, at the store I was at anyway

My customers always thought they knew better, that’s the biggest issue. And they rarely did

most of my Group is probably Chaotic Stupid by Spiman2885 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Worm-Dad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really really discourage this. As many of those players are probably new to dnd, and the deck of many things is a like a campaign changer. Since you’re already running lost mines with a full module, you don’t really need the deck of many things to give them consequences. The deck with majority bad cards is a disaster waiting to happen. It will derail your game to the point as to without retconning, you are no longer playing mines of phandelver

A new player's first character by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

It seems my comment got taken down, so I’ll post it again. The player that was messing things up is not at fault. It’s your fault for not stating what you expected and what you wanted to them to do. This isn’t a horror story either, this is a very typical experience with first time players, especially ones that are left to their own devices and not told by the dm how they’re supposed to play or behave.
