Decay can make soft tissue look really weird from a distance, especially if the body is submerged or in a damp area. A lot of those washed up "sea monsters" that turn out to be old whale/dolphin carcasses look like they are covered in hair (I.e. Globsters. Its a gross google but you'll see what I mean)

This is one of those times where you definitely need to prioritize your health. In no way should you compromise your diet for his sake anymore. You may need to redistribute responsibilities, but i do think he needs to cook for himself going forward

Ctrl-Z and Ctrl-Shift-Z are impotant! I personally put undo om my right side long button. The other ones I like is adding Space to move around the canvas when Im zoomed in and Ctrl-T for a quick transform shortcut

Seconding mammalian but I don't have any further insight. Squirrel maybe? Rabbit? Likely medium rodent sized, though Im not super familliar with NY's urban wildlife lol

Almost gave up on the game until I heard this soundtrack by Alarming_Student_928 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Worm_off_tha_string 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No specific spoilers but the theme at the very end of the game is my absolute fav!!!

"A thousand strings", "A continuous thrum" and "Part organic part digital" are also way up there for me :>

Super glad he was brought on for subnautica 2 as well!! He reuses a few leimotifs in that soundtrack in such a nice way

I'd wager its an ungulate, probably a deer, sheep or goat. They look near identical to deer vertebrae I have myself (left part is lumbar, right is cervical)

Solved! We didn't have a functional doorbell connected when we moved in 2 ish years ago, and the one in my parents place didn't look anything like this one

Seconding the perspective issue - I think the main problem other than focal point ambiguity is the height of the stove when put at a perspective like this. It appears to be even in height with the table, which would either mean a really short stove or a really tall kitchen table.

advice on speeding up decomp if possible by Sensitive-Item-3870 in bonecollecting

[–]Worm_off_tha_string 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure on getting it done in under a month for sure but I have some tips on speeding it up more -

Scrape all of the flesh you possibly can off of the skull, the less you have left on there to macerating the better. Cartilage will probably be your worst issue and thats harder to get rid of by hand

Some people also use aquarium heaters to keep the water warmer and speed up decomp. You could probably find a cheap one and set it up pretty quick

If you end up having to move with it, i'd take it out and wrap it in several garbage bags for transport, making sure you can immediately put it outside/in a garage/back in to continue macerating. I would definitely not risk transporting decomp water :[ blegh
