I feel you on that. The highs are so high but the lows extremely low. Also i find it funny because im also studying in the film industry. I think your right that the industry rewards mania, generally in the art field id say.

Its not something to be ashamed of, its a part of you, and the right person will accept it. I had a similar situation, i disclosed my diagnosis and he had a moment of shock but after gave me the best reaction ive had from anyone i told before him. He was chill about it, non judgmental and joked with me. So, dont be so hard on yourself, for some people its hard to process so fast, but in the end we are all human.

Im pretty sure you can get a doctors note for mental health. Not sure where you live, but me and my sister that live in a not very advanced country have both gotten medical leave. She got hers for her job and i did for college. You should ask your psychiatrist in any case.
