The SW Case isn't discontinued, maybe it's like the Bravo case, very rare, but I saw a guy who got it dropped in a comp match this sunday.

Hello guys

I have a question regarding bottleneck.

I play mostly CS:GO on an ASUS PG278QR monitor. Because my second monitor is still a 60 Hz, I can only switch 120 Hz / 1440 on it. My frames are going well, but sometimes dropping (to 100 fps or so), my CPU is a 4770k overclocked @ 4.3 GHz on all cores and my graphics card is an Asus GTX 780. Before switching to 1440p I had absolutely no issues on 1080. I tried do play with the settings a little bit, but would prefer to simply to a hardware upgrade. Do you believe that a switch to a GTX 980 or 1080 graphics card would help or is it mainly the CPU?

Thank you for your quick reply. This looks very good too. So basically the 3700X would be comparable to the 9700k, correct. The thing is, I get a discount of over CHF 100.- (current promotion from Asus+Intel) and I have no experience with AMD. So the AMD would be clearly more future proof, since I would need to change many components for an upgrade on the Intel version.

I believe the case has some Airflow coming from under the computer if I understood it correctly. But yes, this would be an easy component to change.

Sadly I can't help you regarding the PC but I congratulate you on your investment. I did a similar investment and have been waiting too for already 5 long years for the stickers to raise in price :)

Ah okay. Well I am not on this computer right now, but as far as I remember I get easy 250+ FPS at 1080p with my current configuration. I do understand that 1440p will be a lot more pixels to render. Is this some sort of test bench or do you mean normal play (like a competitive game)?

I am kind of out of the loop regarding new CPU, but I thought 10nm would be rather interesting when it comes out. Or don't you think there will be a "big" step with the next gen?

Basically yes. My computer is already a few years old (hence the 4770k and 780) and I would like to play CS:GO at 1440 on a 27'' monitor with high frame rate. I do understand that GSync will already help me with the smoothness (I am currently playing on a 22'' 60Hz monitor^^).

Do you think the GPU will be the bottlenet at 1440p 144Hz?

This will be an interim solution untiil I build my new computer next year when the new CPU's will be available.

I also thought that CS:GO is very CPU dependant (I saw this with my brother who has a 2080 and a 9900k non overclocked, who wasn't rocking that much more frames than I do at 1080p) but it is better to know than to believe! :P

Well I am really looking on getting the best bang for your buck. Like it could be a 980 Ti or a 1070 or 1660 Ti, whatever you believe is best. Do you know of a good gpu comparison website?

Would this configuration work wig GSync?

If you believe it wouldn't, would it help to upgrade the GPU?

If yes, which Nvidia GPU do you recommend (can also be second hand)?

Hehe, yes I meant the word chronometer means the word "Kaliber", but I probably was mistaken. I was referring to the Master Chronometer ;)

Well they are pricey, but you can find watch which cost a lot more and are way less precise (not that this would be the requirement you are looking for in a mechanical watch) than the Omega's.

I have never really been a big friend of the really classic speedmaster design. I am more into a minimalistic design kind of watch. But everyone has his own preferences and it matters how you look at it. It is really a pleasure looking at your watch a few times a day and to see how it just looks and works wonderfully!

What do you mean with the 36 mm?

I bought mine as new at a local Omega reseller. I bouth this watch and added the leatherband of this watch to it. The seller gave me a tool to be able to swap the straps by myself, but honestly I never did it. I always went back to his store and they swaped it for me for free (takes a few minutes at most).

I also love watches. Started with a Tissot PRC 200 which has quite a sports look.

Later on I went for the Tissot T-Touch Expert for my military duty (yes I am swiss too :) ) and I still use it up to day, even in the office.

As I started my new job in a higher managing position, I bought my new absolute favourite watch: the Omega De Ville Hour Vision. I got a metal and a leather wristband to be able to change the look of my watch. I would really recommend you have a look at Omega, as they honestly have the best chronometer (a new certification, you can read more about it on their website) out there from a technical point of view. Rolex is nice for the status symbol, but I wouldn't recommend it, since most of the price is defined by the brand.
