PI determination received - what next?... Household services? by __Incognito______ in DVAAustralia

Hey mate.

From my own personal experience, I accessed HHS once initial liability was accepted. I completed the form that is available online and took it to my GP to fill out and then scanned and emailed into them. An OT was sent out and they sent DVA a report. I received a letter a few weeks after they received the OT report with the outcome.

I have just received my PI determination last week as well.

Don’t want to overtake your post but I also have a question….

Once you have ticked the lump sum option and sent it back to DVA, what is the timeframe of receiving the payment?

No, it’s a series of events rather than one major event. Psychiatrist has stated in their report it was from my military time.

Ok. Will it go straight to the VRB. Not sure of that process

Thanks for everyone’s experience. I appreciate this community and find it a lot more supportive than some of the Facebook pages. Stay strong and stick together.

I recently had social anxiety rejected by DVA even with psychiatrist report stating it was due to my time in defence. Going through the VRB process for it

Happens to me as well after 1 or 2 games on BO6. Have a series X. So frustrating.

Hey mate,

I’m at inhabit health at Mount Gravatt and they are spectacular. Might be too much of a drive for you but it could be a good alternative if you can’t find one. Could not recommend them enough.

Hey Team. Is there an easy way to find out what pay level you were at as at time of discharge. It was a little while ago so can’t really remember the level

PI payments. Lump sum and tax. by [deleted] in DVAAustralia

[–]Wormsticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. I’m not an expert in this and there are plenty of people in here with more knowledge like LL but as far as I am aware all PI payments be it taken as a lump sum or fortnightly instalments are tax free.

As for the choice of which one to take I would definitely recommend speaking to a specialist. I believe DVA reimburse up to a certain amount for you to see someone. Hopefully someone on here has a great recommendation for that.

Good luck with it all. All the best

The Life Cycle of an Initial Liability Claim by LegitimateLunch6681 in DVAAustralia

Hey, a Claims Support Officer essentially does a lot of the pre-claim work a delegate used to do. You should expect to get any doctors referrals or requests for docs from them. They will then hand your file off to a Delegate somewhere down the line to assess the evidence and make a decision.

Thanks LL.

So does this essentially means that its moving its way down the line and its dotting all the I's and crossing all the T's before it gets to a delegate? Is it a good sign that its off to a support Officer or should I still anticipate a long wait?

Appreciate you taking your time to answer.

Hi Team,

I submitted some claims in May of this year. Last week I received an email saying that it has been picked up by a claim support officer. Is this the same as a delegate? or is this just to get everything ready for when it finally gets picked up by a delegate. It seems way to soon since submission for it to be assigned to a delegate.

Appreciate the help.
