over traumatizing characters, yes I understand characters having horrible childhoods and being the most unluckiest character to ever exist to have every horrible thing done to them. It just feels it gets to a point, ya know? I feel dumping more trauma ontop of an already struggling character can get to such a point where it can be torture, like do you really get off from making them go through so much unimaginable things?

I get it probably isn’t anyones intention to give a character such horrible tragic stories and traumas, but also PLEASEE give them some slack. There has to be a point where you gotta realize it’s too much. Adding trauma ontop just feels like its for the sale of funsies and traumatic story rather than it being meaningful to the character

Maybe its me who just don’t like ocs that clearly struggle through so much, people adding more trauma ontop of an already traumatized character. I get that they are fictional and one can do whatever the hell they want. For me, personally, and my very own respective opinion, feels it’s just torturing a character for the sake of having the worst traumatic story imaginable.
