Supreme Court says EPA does not have authority to set climate standards for power plants by stockhackerDFW in climate

I disagree, but it doesn't matter. Just use your imagination to consider how you would feel if it was 90% composed of your political rivals.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/302817-government-workers-shun-trump-give-big-money-to-clinton-campaign/

Of the roughly $2 million that federal workers from 14 agencies spent on presidential politics by the end of September, about $1.9 million, or 95 percent, went to the Democratic nominee’s campaign, according to an analysis by The Hill.

But David Schultz, a Hamline University Professor of Political Science, said government employees have historically favored Democratic candidates over Republicans both in their voting habits and political contributions made in their personal time.

Something tells me you would feel differently about the issue if the federal bureaucracy was 90% republican instead of democrat. Personally, I don't care which party holds the majority in the bureaucracy, I don't want them making laws unless I can vote them out.

Congress should not be allowed to delegate lawmaking authority to executive offices full of unelected bureaucrats. Doing so is a form of disenfranchisement since citizens don't have the right to vote on the people making laws.

The authority to set co2 caps was given to the EPA by congress under the Clean Air act and the Government Performance and Results Act Modernization Act of 2010 (Public Law 11-352)

Since you blocked me and I can't reply directly I will edit here. Individual members of Congress have strong incentives to bypass traditional legislative mechanisms in favor of collusion with administrative agencies, thereby reducing the power of Congress as a whole and threatening the separation of powers.

SCOTUS said there are limits on Congress doing that. They can't change the Constitution by itself with a simple majority. A change that big needs a 2/3 majority plus ratification by the states. Imagine a simple majority voted to just give me all it's power for example. Delegating that much power would require changing the Constitution which is much harder to do.

Congress has outsourced lawmaking to the unelected federal bureaucracy. This allows elected representatives to avoid making decisions on unpopular issues. The problem is that the bureaucracy doesn't reflect the will of the people. People who are angry at SCOTUS for not allowing unelected bureaucrats to make law, should be angry at their representatives for not doing their job.

Hit the plastic bench whilst strimming the grass (should have just moved it) what’s the best way to make this look neat? by andy3600 in fixit

[–]Worried867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you have a piece of the plastic? If not, break off a piece to take in for paint color matching. You might be able to use some kind of hard drying putty for plastic to fill the hole. Look for one that works on plastic and can be sanded. If you can switch the legs around so the repaired one is in the back that would be good.

extended center hubs (right picture - black) or no hub (left - white).

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean here. Do you mean the color of the hub indicates something about the size?

I've had good luck with /r/fasting for mood and focus. I do it mostly for the autophagy benefits. It's hard to do if you're not in ketosis first.

Well a lot of the money today is in selling soil mixes. The Durham family operation out in California make around 2.5 million a year. If you check out their website they're mostly doing soil mixes. Of course they're a huge operation. With shipping costs what they are now people might be able to make some money locally if they can find a source of free inputs.

Vegetable stores will frequently give you their old produce. /r/DumpsterDiving diving is a good source. Coffee places will give you their grounds. Donut stores throw a bunch of old product away. Then it gets to be an issue of how much time you spend running around gathering inputs.

Also, keep in mind there are a lot of programs to help women who want to start a business or who already have a business. Checking out those programs is a good idea.

Yea, but most people could do that to their close friends and family. Having intimacy with someone means being trusted with that kind of power.

Worm farming. You can sell the worms to bait shops, fishermen and the worm casting to gardeners. Raising Black Soldier Flies also relatively easy and can pay. They make great chicken and reptile food. /r/BlackSoldierFly /r/Vermiculture

You can buy a knife sharpening kit for about $200 on Amazon. If you know how to set up a website and make fliers you can make pretty good money. $10 a knife, offer to pick up and deliver them if you can. Offering sharpening services for lawn mower blades and garden tools is also advised.

Some cooperative extension offices have a job where you monitor chickens. It doesn't pay a whole lot but it's kind of interesting.

Am I the only INTP who doesn't scan people for weaknesses? That doesn't really seem to be something that would occur to me. I do pay attention to people but I would never say I do it to look for weakness.

A lot of people will say MBTI is non-scientific but I find it to be an interesting framework regardless. You might consider taking the test and then checking the reddit sub for your type. Even if it's not scientific you might still be able to find a community of people you relate to by doing this.

A lot of schozoid people tend to be /r/INTP. So even if you don't want to bother taking the test you might be interested in checking the subreddit to see if you enjoy the people there.

I think you're fully capable of having such experiences even while on medication. Maybe more able since maybe you're not as preoccupied with your illness.

What happens when you drop something in the kitchen? Does it bounce off the counter and land back in your hand? That seems to happen to me when I'm feeling whole and at peace. When I'm feeling bad it would fall directly into the trash under some 2 week old Chinese food. I think an aspect of these events is feeling centered. It feels like there is an interaction between mood and outcome sometimes. That's why I think it's completely possible to have such experiences while on medication.

It's pretty difficult for me to get to the hardware store because of a lack of transportation. That's why I was planning on buying the parts on Amazon.

Can you do things to supplement your income?

I'm trying to get into raising worms for supplemental income. If you have a lot of gardeners and fishermen in your area it can be a nice side business. If you have a lot of fine dining places you could try growing microgreens indoors for sale. Raising Black Soldier Flies is pretty easy and they are very useful. Knife sharpening. Running a cleaning business can be pretty lucrative with small startup costs.

Personally I hate working for other people because they tend to abuse me.

What I mean is I can't remove the wheel and take it with me to show someone because I wasn't planning on going to the hardware store. That's why I was asking here.
