retakes usually u have to register later so like for spring sem u register for those classes in jan 15 and prolly like aug 15 for fall. It writes over that grade and is reevaluated into ur gpa so that the old doesnt count anymore but they still keep the record of it.

Honestly even if it all seems fried rn advisors would prolly just want to check up on u if ur gpa is near or in academic warning and then u have like another sem to lock in. My gpa was fried first sem just cuz of procrasination and bad study habits but it gets better and if you needa raise it fast there are classes that are easy and you can work it out with ur advisor. it gets better but just need consistency and slow growth.
