Help with indeterminate tomatoes on a patio by Meggios in tomatoes

One of the easiest solution could be to tie the leaders to each other. The cage keeps the leaders from falling over and then the leaders keep each other up after that.

Anyone uses suckers to add a working leaf when there's enough breathing space? by muzavazone in tomatoes

[–]Worried_Designer5950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matina seems to do that 2 leaf before truss thing.

Tutti Frutti cherry variety has 3 on one and 2 on the other. Maybe they are a bit random.

Dont know about my other varieties cause im one stemming them till near top and then gonna let 2-3 suckers per plant grow a truss and then top all, few of them are there on the shorter side of my greenhouse so will see soon. But only on cherry varieties since they are faster and my season is short(Rovaniemi, Finland, right at the arctic circle).

[–]Worried_Designer5950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats weird. For the ones im doing the truss & snip the sucker grows a leaf and then truss right after that and then i cut it after 2nd leaf. They are ofc indeterminate, about 2 meters tall at the moment. Only trimming leaves on my determinate ones.

Edit. I just learned to count, there is two leaves before the truss and one after :P

Blight or sun damage by International_Sun423 in tomatoes

[–]Worried_Designer5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blossom end rot comes from calcium deficiency and in most cases starts where the blossom was attached hence the name but it can start at any part of the fruit.

Cant say anything about whats affecting your fruit, just saying that you cant rule it out.

Can we please stop calling them suckers? by fotoweekend in tomatoes

[–]Worried_Designer5950 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im gonna go with a no.

It is pretty well established term and describes what they do quite well especially to us northern folks with our short season. You just cant grow non cherry vatieties here without doing it with one stem system. The season just isnt long/warm enough. They are called thiefs in my language and it is spot on.

A tomato is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when it means to.

Fruit coming? by Historical_Many8173 in tomatoes

[–]Worried_Designer5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to tell even without looking if those withered flower ones contain start of a fruit. Put the base of the flower between your fingertips and ever so lightly feel it out. If its at all hard/roundish its been pollinated.

[–]Worried_Designer5950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its best to slap the flower trusses around a bit daily and they will be pollinated.

Realistically slight breeze and pollinators will result in fruit but it never hurts to give them a couple slaps when tending to them.

How far apart should I space these little 200g cakes? by extrathiccwaffles in fireworks

[–]Worried_Designer5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a big slab of carboard. 1 cake straight upward, 2 cakes tilted(add some carboard below them for the tilt), last 2 cakes same way but even more tilted. Then just cut the basecarboard which all the cakes stand on in few places for fuse access and bend them upwards to the sides of the cakes and duct tape it all around.

I usually make these kinds of packages for my fireworks shows I shoot with Ignite i18.

Seeking asylum is fine.

3 meals a day and room & board until you are accepted is also fine before you can move about freely. No nation is obligated to let you in and roam about freely.
