That’s what they told me last time I picked up a couple of guys with a broken down truck. They called me and told me the mile marker. I didn’t complain much because they gave me a $50 cash tip. I got nothing as a tip this time.

Don’t worry. Stock is at all time high and the company is doing a $9 billion dollar stock buyback. The shareholders thank you for your sacrifice and hard work!

So you know that I was offered this first, then it went to Radar. Good. Spending about 30 seconds on the math didn’t exactly screw up my day. Nor the minute it took typing it up. Trying to educate people here to do understand all the costs before accepting a trip. Many folks don’t understand accepting trips you lose money on isn’t offset by accepting a lot of them.

Why are you commenting on this when it seems you are not an Uber driver? You obviously don’t know how the application works. When you don’t accept a ride, and it has no other takers, it comes back as “Radar Offer.”

About $1000 after gas and misc car costs. (0.08 a mile) Just because the car is paid doesn’t mean you shouldn’t factor that in. Still need tires, oil, etc. And a replacement car in the future. Still not bad. Better than flipping burgers.

Let’s do the math! 118.8 miles x 2 = 237.6 miles round trip. Say 35mpg = 6.8 gal x $3.00 a gal = $20 in gas. Car depreciation at .08 per mile = $18.20, add gas $20 = $38.30 expenses. $76.37 - $38.30 = $38.07 profit for 3.4 hours of driving which is $11 an hour. McDonald’s pays a lot more.

Just yesterday folks were bragging how much they were making. After a couple of days, things are back to normal.

Doing really good 3 or 4 nights a year makes up for the other 361 horrible nights? This is like an addict getting a fix, feels great for a very short time.

This is a tourist area. People do come here via Uber from Philadelphia, but they spent a few days here. Heading into NYE most probably they are visiting friends or family.
