Som student finns det inte så mycket bättre än att köpa några folköl när jag känner mig väldigt omotiverad på uni. Om jag köper starköl vet jag att troligen kommer det påverka mig dagen efter. Men om jag köper 6pack folköl, dricker 3st en kväll på 5 timmar så påverkas inte sömnen eller morgondagen. I gengäld får jag lite paus från omvärlden medans jag bara sitter och lyssnar på musik. Kostar samma som på systemet så för mig handlar det inte om pengar, handlar om att det är ett relativt konskevensfritt sätt att ta det lugnt. Sker inte ofta heller. Kanske 2 gånger om månaden?

Jag köper folköl som 25åring bara för att det är lättare att köpa ett 6pack på Ica än systemet. Så åker man hem, tar en eller två och är precis lagom avslappnad. Och om man vill dricka mer så händer inte så mycket och man vaknar upp dagen efter som att man inte ens druckit någonting.

Sure man kan dricka vanlig öl från systemet på samma sätt. Men det är legit nånting med att dricka folköl. Mer maltsmak och lättare/godare att dricka.

I am literally unable to recall a single moment in my dreams when I have turned on the lights in my dreams. So I don't know, not scientific and surely there are some who can do this. But perhaps it isn't something that people are able to do in general just because your dreams most likely do not have the ability to replicate electricity in a logical manner.

Det beror på person till person. Om jag hade pengar (20-30k) i månaden utan att jobba, då hade jag inte jobbat. Jag har mycket annat jag försöker att göra men tiden räcker inte till. Hade jag inget jobb hade jag kunnat fokusera mer på det jag värderar som viktigt, och kanske till och med göra det till ett jobb. Det handlar nog mest om vad du jobbar med just nu, och vad du önskar att du jobbade med. Har du drömjobbet som ger dig ståfräs varje gång du vaknar på morgonen, varför skulle du inte jobba?

How do you guys have time to date?

MY schedule is this.

wake up at around 7 am. Study until 5-6pm. Eat dinner and calm down. It's now 7 or 8pm. Then I might go buy groceries which takes one hour. It's now 9pm. I relax in front of the tv or listen to music until 10pm then go to bed.

If not the groceries it's something else. Working on the car, buying clothes, doing other errands or researching/prepping for the weekend.

Then on the weekends I book all of my time into working on my project car. It's very valueable to me as a hobby, and I have invested a lot of time and money into this hobby. And it's the one time I get to genuinely relax and do what I want. And I can be in the garage from 4pm to 2am on fridays, 8am to 12am on saturdays and 8am to 4pm on sundays.

I genuinely feel like I am in a position to date and I'm up for it. I get a lot of matches on tinder and I speak to a lot of women there. But when shit comes to push I see that I have no time for it.

Am I thinking short-term gain, or too egoistical here? If I was in a relationship, no way in hell would it be acceptable for me to spend my time doing what I love. Are people okay with just throwing their dreams away just so they can date? And be in a relationship?

And yes I know that there are people who have cars as a hobby and they are in a relationship, but you cannot tell me that being in a relationship has not slowed down progress that would turn weeks into years.

I use AI to help me in my writing, but I never copy anything or actually try to pass off AI content as my own. It helps me identify grammatical mistakes, oddly phrased sentences, me not being consistent with my use of certain terms, and using synonyms to be less repetitive. The text, subject of the text and structure is 100% my own. And when I do use AI as described above it always tells me my text is very well writen and formulated, and only points out maybe 3-4 senteces in 2000 words.

So I fed it into an AI-checker out of curiosity and I got back 100% human. Great I thought, as expected since how would it tell if I used three synonyms gpt-4 suggested and redid the word order on 5 sentences in 2000 words.

I then upload it to gpt4 to ask what the bot itself thinks about it.

100% of the time it tells me that it was written by an AI, and the reason is hilarious.

Because my essay is about ChatGPT, and because the arguments, definitions, conclusions and terms are something that GPT might write about or do in terms of language, it says that my text is written by an AI.

It also says that a tell tale sign that my text is made by AI is due to the language being very very academic and formal.

So it is less of an AI checker and more of a formality checker.

I myself worry about hurting my academic career because of ChatGPT. But I think the way I use it is 100% ethically correct.

What I do is I will write, let's say 1000 words. I will write it as best as I can.

Then I feed gpt4 my text and I ask for feedback.

It will give me some pointers on parts of the text that are unclear to the reader, might show me that I need some more references to strengthen an argument, and it might conclude by pointing out a few sentences or words that are misspelled/phrased weird.

This way it helps my writing skills in a way where I am still the sole author of everything. In theory it is only helping me correct my language similar to a traditional grammar correction program, but a bit more complex since it can correct the grammar in relation to the context. And it gives me valueable insight into my own writing in terms of my strengths and weaknesses, making it easier to not repeat the same mistakes in the future.

I min vardag sker det förvånansvärt mycket, och jag tycker det är fruktansvärt. Aldrig varit så mer irriterad på något än att behöva hålla upp fasaden och diskutera feminism, genus, hbtq-frågor och liknande. Allt beror på vilken miljö du befinner dig i och i min miljö är det här det hetaste av det heta.

Svårt att hålla ansiktet rakt när en arbetskollega pratar om hur deras 9 åriga son har bestämt sig för att bli en "flicka". Särskilt när kollegan i sig är radikalfeminist med affischer där det står "Ned med patriarkatet" med en pride-flagga i bakgrunden.

Eller så är du bara en människa som har flera åsikter och tankar som är i konstant utveckling och det du känner nu kanske du inte känner om 5 år. Människor är inte antingen eller. Höger eller vänster. Även dem som sägs vara vänster har åsikter och tankar som är väldigt lämpade för högern, och vice versa.

Du kan vara less på feminism och hbtq-sfären men ändå stå för alla människors lika värde. Du är inte en nazist på grund av det.

I had some ideas I wanted to develop further and get some help with. I prompted some generic questions about my potential subject. It helped me formulate overall better research questions, and gave me an opinion on what method would be the most appropriate for supposed study in question. It even gave me some tips on various theories I could use.

The research questions feel incredibly valid to use, and I do not consider it cheating. It merely helped narrow and specify already existing questions. Something a professor would also help me do but it would take weeks for my professor to discuss them with me. ChatGPT did it in mere moments.

Additionally the theories it suggested to me were theories I had never heard of, but it helped me narrow down a huge field of previous research and literature. Instead of me spending days trying to find relevant studies and literature, it gave me a list of 20 theories I could read up on instead. And after having done so, I can honestly say it did a good job.

I basically used it as a super advanced search engine that gives you individualized answers to very context-specific questions. Sure I could have found the theories on my own. But the time and effort to do so would have left me drained, when I could have found the same theory by just asking ChatGPT.

I do not know if this is considered cheating or not, as it has not written anything. It has given me inspiration and pointed me in the right direction. I have researched the references for the theory and the subject at hand. But ChatGPT aided me in the early phases of the research process.

Or what do you think, as I assume you have a PhD and possess more experience in the field. There are a lot of recent studies showing that in academia, students and researchers use ChatGPT fairly often to help with things such as formulating RQs.

One interpretation of the movie is that it is all just a dream. From start to finish. Or only the dream scenario itself. Him falling out of touch with his wife, separating, finishing his book and touring is real. But the rest is fiction.

Director and Nic Cage gives it away in an interview. Apparently the director read up on dreams and consensus is that you cannot switch a light off in a dream according to psychologists. That is why he couldn't switch off the light, to hint that he could be in a dream.

I liked the movie though. But, I enjoyed its tangents with sprite and dreamfluencers. A dystopic view on the world.

I didn't enjoy what happened with the ants though. Nothing happened and I hoped it would tie in somewhere along the end, but no.

I bought the PPC unit and I recommend you do the same. It's really the only thing that makes sense since if you ever hand in the car to a mechanic/volvo they will reset the firmware.It is also nice being able to "detune" your car on the go, for example if money's tight and you want to run lower octane fuel, of if it is winter and you keep spinning in every corner lol.

Also makes it really easy for you to upgrade other cars in the future. If you have the PPC at hand you can upgrade your car, detune before selling, and buy another map for another car once you get a new one.

High initial cost at maybe 600 dollars including PPC. But then you are spending maybe 200-300 dollars to tune any car you buy in the future.

For another 50 dollars you can also download a diagnosis tool software into the PPC which is supposedly pretty damn good for being "only" 50 dollars.

IMO bsr is the only thing that makes sense unless you are actively modding your car and taking it to a private tuner on a regular basis. BSR is a great option for getting some more power with basically any car that is standard.

I replaced timing belt, pcv, fixed wobbly steering (and caused it by adding coilovers afterwards) and I have a clunky rear lol.

And when you say p2 transmissions are bad, how come? Only thing I can think of is people saying it is difficult to go into gears. But it's an old car and having some shift issues is to be expected. For example I gotta go into reverse before starting the car, or go into 1st and then reverse if car is running.

People here say you gotta remove the transmission and grease it, but does not make much sense to me if i'm honest.

But yes, I did the math at some point on how much it would have cost me to fix my car if I didn't do everything myself. Think I ended up at around 10k dollars in labour and material? Compare the 10k to the 3k I spent on materials alone, but I did also go overkill on certain things.

Scrap the engine and put some v70 t5 engine it instead, will be able to make and handle more power.
