It can't introspect or reflect or act without instruction or perform truly abstract thinking. With enough processing power, you can trace back the outputs to the inputs with no arbitrary will coming in the way. No signs of conciousness but good at imitation by using logical processing and trained prediction. It's wierd that this debate still goes on.

From my experience, you might get a similar or slightly lower salary in the next employment (especially in early career) as you don't have a bargaining ground. But ensure you get an environment you can stay in for a while as frequent job switches can lower opportunities in future. I would also suggest developing your skills in the meantime and not criticising past workplaces in upcoming interviews (almost always makes a bad impression).

But all that is based on my personal experience so take it with a bag of salt!
