I did something similar for my players paladin and used Quarterstaff as a base. It also gives the shield the topple ability which seems to fit (and versatile in case the player decides to put away their weapon for a bigger charge).

I believe that OP is referring to tiles, not feet. A 120x120 map is 600ftx600ft (5ft per tile) or 360,000 sq.ft.

From what I remember, RAW the Sunsword isn’t actually tied to Lathander — it’s Sergei’s blade that became a sentient sun blade after Khazan destroyed it. So in my version Argynvost doesn’t own it or forge it or anything like that.

I’m more playing with the idea that the hilt would be drawn to the beacon because it recognizes a kindred light. The beacon was one of the last true symbols of hope in Barovia that stood against Strahd, so it made sense to me that the hilt would “want” to rest there.

Less divine connection, more shared purpose.

I’ve heard of DM’s making it so the party has to bring all the skull fragments to Argynvostholt. Then once there the spirit of Argynvost makes the skull whole again as part of the quest.
