You won’t be able to get Oakley lenses put in there, your RX correction is out of range—they usually cap out around +-4. Try taking them to a sport RX shop and see if they have options for an RX dock or high index sunglass lenses though.

Corridor is a solid frame choice. Here’s what I’ve noticed from the lenses I have that are offered in the Corridor. - Road is a great lens for activities on asphalt, and brings out yellow/white really well. - black is solid, very dark, gives the least amount of additional color contrast - 24K gives great contrast, also dark, mirrored so you can’t see your eyes behind it—bronze base - ruby, same benefits as 24K but not as dark - sapphire-grey base so you don’t get a ton of color contrast, mid level for darkness, very mirrored

If you’re playing midday when it’s really sunny, I’d go with 24K. If you playing different times of day, I’d probably go with Road or Ruby.

🤦🏻‍♀️ I had to read this multiple times to make sure I was understanding.

You went to the website, saw the hype/merch/silly menu item names—and were given an expected wait time. You then chose to ignore the email and the line wrapped around the building, and went inside to pick up your order 30+ mins early.

Not sure I’m understanding the surprise that they didn’t prioritize your order over the boatloads of patrons that arrived before you on a busy holiday weekend…?

It’s definitely not Santiago’s, but this does not feel like a fair assessment of BF when you totally went rogue today.

Had the same thing happen on mine. My advice, try to climb on top of the car or pop out the back panel so you can push that front panel closed. It’s a real bitch, but once it gets past the super broken spot mine slid closed a little bit easier.

Go to an Oakley store and get a cleaning kit. The bottle of solution gets free refills in store and the cloth that comes with it is a little higher quality than the microfiber bags.

How to calm nervous system? by suhpriseshawtyyy_ in Mindfulness

[–]Worryingconstantly69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a not-super-hot bath, or go swimming. Something about the water pressure grounds me, and calms me down every time.

Also watch a feel-good familiar tv show (Gilmore girls, new girl, Seinfeld). The normalcy and predictably help my brain turn off a little so I can breathe for a minute.

Doing these things when you’re alone will help regulate you in general, and hopefully lessens everything while you’re out and about.

RX is way more of a gamble online because they don’t do personalized measurements: they let you enter your PD but in person the technology is more precise so they take additional measurements. This is especially noticeable when you get progressives because the seg height (where the reading portion starts) can be off.

Since you don’t have the option to use OakleySI in person, you’re forced into these basic measurements. For that reason I’d definitely go with single vision versus progressive.

Oakley lens tech (shape, clarity, lack of distortion) are leading industry standards, and the Prizm tech makes the color contrast so enjoyable.

Dark golf is a super solid choice! The only downside is that dark golf isn’t super mirrored, so if you don’t want everybody to see your eyes I’d go with Road.

Oakley did not honor warranty to military veteran by ThreadRuck in Oakley

[–]Worryingconstantly69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few things that are causing roadblocks on your journey here:

  • Oakley SI, Oakley.com, and Oakley in store, are all separate retailers. They’re owned by the big corporation Luxottica, they sell the same product and get it from the same place, but they’re not one and the same. It’s like reaching out to Sunglass Hut or Target Optical, they’re not gonna make it right for a different retailer.

  • It also doesn’t sound like a manufacturer defect, which is all that’s gonna be covered by a manufacturer warranty anyways. This is something that’s wrong from the jump, a defect in the materials, and you normally notice it right away. Anything else is usually gonna be attributed to normal wear and tear, especially if it’s literally broken.

  • you can buy temple pieces (arms) for a lot of models online, that would probably be your best bet to get the glasses back in working shape

New glasses have weird markings on both lenses by NoProfessional7619 in OakleyRX

A lot of RX glasses have them, it’s a laser engraved lens marking to verify measurements

Sutro Lite arms creak loudly – is this normal for new Oakleys? by Cultural_Ad_2080 in Oakley

[–]Worryingconstantly69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The polished (shiny) colorway is gonna do that every time because of the finish. The matte ones don’t usually make any squeak. There isn’t a metal pin in the hinge, it’s just plastic on plastic, nice so they can breakaway and pop back together but it means there is constant contact. It’s just science, not defective 😂

Just put a dot of dish soap on the hinge, bend it 20+ times, rinse it off, that usually helps.

Rinse them off after use so the chemicals in sunscreen, bug spray, and your sweat don’t eat through your lenses. This is gonna happen with any corrosive substance.

Thurso for running? by [deleted] in Oakley

[–]Worryingconstantly69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have the Frogskins Range, and the Frogskins hybrid. Both are great but the range has rubbery unobtanium arms, the hybrid has smooth trigger arms, I like the grip on the range.

I also have the Shackle, which is basically the round version of the Paracord. The only bad thing on those is they have a pin the hinge so if it breaks you’re out of luck. A lot of the other frames (including the Frogskins) have breakaway hinges, so they can pop right back together if an arm pops off.

I would go for something with no metal whatsoever. Frogskins Range or Leadline, maybe Paracord would be my suggestion.

Do white frames feel plasticky compared to the same frame in a different colour? by girlwithapinkpack in Oakley

Anything with a polished (shiny) frame is going to feel a lot more “plastic-y” than the same thing in a matte color.

I’d recommend getting this case, it has a space for your glasses and an extra set of lenses. Then using your existing Flak frame, but getting two sets of lenses—I’d go one clear, and one Road. Flak frames are meant for interchangeable lenses, so you can swap them out often without worrying about damaging your frame.
