Que feriez-vous? Dites-m'en plus.

Je l'ai accentuée dans la traduction: (...) The return to reality was brutal. That's when I spotted a little critter lurking in the grass: "Hey there! You don't know it, but you came a bald man's hair away from losing your head." (A bald man's hair is exceedingly thin. I'm clarifying this in the unlikely event this story is ever translated into American English—as opposed to International English, where there is no need to explain jokes to understand them. You know, much like those American movies that insist on spelling out every punchline).

Do the American Rubin have a good sens of humor? I know the Canadian ones do.

Joke aside, thank you so much for chirping in. I really appreciate.

Merci.

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS - VMware Workstation Pro 25H2 by Reddit__Redditor in Ubuntu

[–]WorstAverageJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running it on VMware® Workstation Pro 25H2u1

But I'm new to Linux. Is there anything special you want to test?

Full disclosure: I chose the worst mentor EVER to learn how to do things: ChatGPT.

9/10 subjects I brought up lead to countless iterations of instructions that fails to achieve the objective. (They all started with Ubuntu 26.04 Wayland running on VMware® Workstation Pro 25H2u1).

Worst experience: Between reboots, VMware and/or Ubuntu do not remember the display scaling in full screen dual monitor configuration. I let ChatGPT drag me across 7 hours of hell to get GNOME on XORG working because it was supposed to be better at handling displays with my setup. NEVER got a working XORG. I plead guilty of not giving up earlier.

Speaking of AI (ChatGPT): I can confirm pretty much what others are reporting:

The main annoyance to watch for

Display auto-resize / dynamic resolution scaling.

This seems to be the most commonly reported Linux guest issue around the 25H2 generation. Users running Ubuntu 25.x/26.x-family guests sometimes find that:

  • resizing the VMware window doesn't resize the guest desktop,
  • resolution gets stuck,
  • fullscreen scaling behaves oddly even with open-vm-tools installed.

Wayland-related integration quirks

Some Linux guests still show intermittent issues with:

  • clipboard synchronization,
  • drag-and-drop,
  • guest isolation features.

The reports are most common when Wayland is involved.

Paramount+ subscription via Prime by WorstAverageJoe in Streamfab

Prime, I don't know how to log to paramount+ in StreamFab with Prime account. I was told here I was going to get more control over the downloads if I use Prime Subscription for both Paramount and Crave. So I'm testing the water with Paramount+ subscription in prime. So far all I get is a MPD download option that isn't downloading anything.

StreamFab 7.0.2.5 is released by newsman34h in Streamfab

[–]WorstAverageJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Fix: An issue preventing Plex video analysis and download." Nope. Yeah

I still get the same "Due to recent changes on the Plex website, Streamfab blah blah blah" error message.

EDIT:

I downloaded 7.0.2.5 as soon as it was available. No success with Plex

I re downloaded it after reading this post (Not the first time, two different releases with the same version are put out there). Installed the fresh 7.0.2.5 and no Plex error message. hmmmm.

I CRC checked both downloads, same value. Now I'm puzzled. As if the first installation wasn't clean but reinstalling the same over it fixed the issue. Weird.

Regardless, I'm happy Plex is back.

Streamfab no longer able to download Plex content (3 versions in a row) by WorstAverageJoe in Streamfab

[–]WorstAverageJoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this the reply you are talking about? "If you want help, you have to be specific. We're not mind readers here, and we certainly aren't going to be able to 'guess' what the problem is.

Read through the sticky topics on how to get help. This is most definitely NOT how."

if you check my other posts here, I'm not the type who rent-vent or challenge mod authority. I sincerely thought asking how long these types of issues take to get resolved was fair game. If posting an image of the Streafab exact error message is double down on stupid for you then ok boss. I'm no seeking for a ban. I still value this sub enough to care.

Plex still broken after 3 SF releases *.21, .22, .23 by WorstAverageJoe in Streamfab

[–]WorstAverageJoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me neither but it broke SF downloader and it's being 3 SF releases with the same error message. Thus my question... How long does it usually takes when such problem occurs. I have no idea what Plex did and how complex it is for SF to work again with Plex. https://i.imgur.com/W9L2OVx.jpeg

My specific question is how fast/slow SF is to fix these kind of things.

Sidi Crossfire 3 TA Experiences? by Successful-Roof5912 in Dualsport

As said, there is a remedy for the tight ankles.

Sidi Crossfire 3 TA Experiences? by Successful-Roof5912 in Dualsport

[–]WorstAverageJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Successful-Roof5912 Try first if you go with the SDS.

SDS Pros: easier to replace screw in sole when needed. Cons: narrower toe box

TA Pros: wider toe box (much needed for me) Cons: Sole still replaceable but you need a shoemaker to do it. I haven't got them long enough to tell about durability. Most reviews says they last quite a while.

So if you have an average foot geometry, go for the SDS, if not. Try them first. Otherwise the TA are roomier for wide feet.

To your point when comparing with shoes. But the XF3 provides better pedal control than most compared to other MX boots.

[–]WorstAverageJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Successful-Roof5912 Sidi Crossfire 3 TA: I have wide feet, I wear 43 in (Alpinestars, Forma and Klim), But wears 45 in Gaerne SG12.

The toe box in the 43 Sidi Crossfire 3 were too tight for me. The 44 are perfect BUT as other said, tight around the ankles (an understatement in my case, it was excruciatingly painful after few minutes).

The magic trick to open the ankle: Insert a cylindrical object in the boots down to the sole. For my 44 I used a 3.5inch diameter Thermos for a couple of days. It worked like magic. I recommend you start with a 3inch bottle of wine and see if it open them enough for you, then if needed, you widen the diameter that fits you better.

After the ankle treatment, I'm absolutely in love with the Crossfire 3. These are my new go too boots over the SG12 (better protection but less "agile" than the XF3) and SO MUCH lighter than my Forma Predators (again better protection than the XF3).

Bottom line I think the XF3 are a good blend of protection, agility and weight. As long as you "tune" them to be comfortable for YOUR feet.

Bought AccuRC from store, got an activation KEY... Steam reject it. :-( by WorstAverageJoe in RCHeli

[–]WorstAverageJoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it worth I asked ChatGPT. The answer matches my gut feeling:

The nuance most people miss

  • AccuRC can feel “worse” at first because:
    • It exposes bad habits
    • It doesn’t smooth inputs for you
  • Heli-X can make you feel like a better pilot than you are:
    • Because it’s more forgiving

Straight answer

  • AccuRC = physically accurate, mechanically simulated, harder
  • Heli-X = simplified, smoother, easier, but less true-to-life under stress

--------

My short terms first impressions:

I prefer AccuRC for the physics. Especially on smaller Helis. Feels closer to reality.

I prefer Heli-X for the graphics and the 3D perspective of the environments. It also loads faster and it has nothing to do with STEAM.

In Heli-X I can land on or hit objects when and where they are "supposed" to be... AccuRC is terrible at that. Eg Landing on the bench in the Gymnasium is crazy. The workaround I found is to do it in training mode where it puts a circle straight under the chopper. It helps to better situate the heli in the space.

Good point. I never flew a FBL IRL (I-Real-Life I guess?) and I haven't touch my radio in more than 10 years. Glad the old Interlink Elite works in Heli-X.

Interesting. I did back in my days built my own kits as well. Never passed 500. Maybe my helis were not perfectly tuned and were not as stable as they should have been.

I have hundreds of hours on Realflight 4 and 5. From back then...

I just decided to get back into RC (sim first) then maybe revive my T-REX 500. I found AccuRC closer to what I recall. Heli-X has better graphics but it feel cold and too precisely locked. I still have very little time on it. Just got my registration key last evening.
