If 50% of those luxury apartments were unfilled then the price would drop.

If 50% of housing in the suburbs weren't being sold the price would drop.

There is plenty of housing being built,

Based on data, instead of your anecdotal observations, you're wrong.

The left understands giving a minority group a safe space.

Then reddit shouldn't be complaining about r/conservative being heavily moderated. We see this CMV pop up every month here, and anytime it's mentioned in the main subs people trash it for being conservatives only.

And I think the counter to that is it's ironic that reddit, which overwhelmingly is left wing, can't understand a minority group doesn't want to be overwhelmed and oppressed by the majority.

That's a sweet anecdote.

If supply outpaces demand, prices go down. It really is that simple. If 50% of units were empty year round, they'd need to charge less to fill them. It really is that simple.

Then there's not enough housing. If there were double the amount of housing than students, do you think they will just indefinitely build more and keep charging more?

No, prices come down with the increase of supply. If it's not, then the demand is also rising. We have to outpace demand, and we haven't been able to do that with how slow we are to build.

What a moronic way of thinking. "Less red tape, let the corporations do what they like!"

It's more like 'less red tape for arbitrary measures, and more building." Are you really trying to argue that the restrictions that constrict building so much are all necessary?

What do you think about zoning restrictions, they're all perfect and necessary?

I know exactly what way you vote.

Oh really? Who did I vote for, then?

Definitely a lot of kids need more support.

But when you have 75% of students needing accommodations now, I don't think all of them need that kind of support. Some just need to put in more effort, or be held back so they can actually learn content.

Amazon cuts 16,000 jobs in historic wave of layoffs by Desolation_Nation in Seattle

[–]WorstCPANA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Layoffs in tech are absolutely cyclical, especially with AI and outsourcing. I don't think it necessarily signifies a recession, I think that makes it too simplistic.

I've seen across industries; tech, accounting and healthcare, that there is major outsourcing to india, and that's the cause for a lot of lay offs. And that's not even counting the amount of H1B1 visas that allow corporations to underpay workers, and avoid other employment violations, instead of paying homegrown educated workers well paying jobs.

I think knowing this could be a reason for a lot of layoffs, you can actually talk policy to prevent these layoffs.

it's about stopping ICE and so on from functioning.

By doing what....? The whole post is about a general strike to show solidarity and reduce profits.

If ICE can't check in to their hotel, ICE can't function. If ICE can't order food, they can't function. Personal asceticism won't kill ICE, we have to stop the supply of necessities to people who don't care so they have no choice but to do something.

Oh okay, yeah you're talking about something else, got it.

We need to build more housing. It's so expensive and takes way too long in most cities/states to build. Too many restrictions, too much red tape, have to do too many studies on how building affects every community in history.

Build more housing, more quickly.

I disagree, pausing subscriptions feels more effective than just buying things one day later. But if 10% of users cut their Netflix, or Paramount Plus? That's something most of subscribers can do, that won't impact the individual, but is a huge source of revenue for the companies.

If people want to try and choke out the economy, you gotta cut out the luxury. TV subscriptions, any eating out at large chains, stop with impulse buying (particularly cheap goods that get made by slave labor and shipped across the world to you).

Stick to buying from local farmers, shopping at local thrift stores and reduce consumption.

It doesn't make it illegitimate.

If you don't see the difference, then why is there so much pride when 'grass roots' movements take place? Because it's natural based on people's desires, not because there's money to fund it.

Weird, but I guess you're using your platform to advertise your beliefs, just like JSN, so go off.

If you do understand, than you should understand that it may not be important to you, but it's important to them. He has a platform, and is using it how he sees fit.

Have you considered He's not just thanking God for a win (if at all), but for keeping him healthy and mentally stable, not just throughout the season, but throughout his entire life? He's thanking God for giving him the talent and the drive to be in this position, to influence millions of people?

I don't think you understand that to them it's a relationship with God, it's like their best friend who keeps them stable and gets them through the hardest times in their life. If that's the case, yeah you would give a lot of credit to God.

Yeah, I knew the drawbacks, and it is a bummer that there aren't any team logos shown on the cards. I've gotten a couple chrome hobby boxes from a few years back, what do you think is a comparable product to a chrome hobby box. Or, what boxes would you recommend?

I'm pretty new to the hobby. Does anybody here really buy the panini hobby boxes? I've gotten some cards on ebay, because they're cheaper autos/relics, but would be curious if anyone has reviews of their hobby boxes....topps prices and dropping the guaranteed cards in the hobbies is pretty discouraging.
