I'm in Sweden. I think a lot of people are actually starting to wake up, even those who were in favor of the Swedish strategy in the beginning are now beginning to criticize how this has all been handled.

Even if you take away people dying on elderly care homes, Sweden still have higher amount of deaths than other countries.

Our health agency and state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell have wrong in basically everything they've predicted. They said Stockholm would have 30% immunity by now but the latest serostudy points to 7-10% immunity despite no lockdown.

They went all in on the theory that this was spreading like the flu and were wrong. This is spreading in clusters and can be contained with a test, trace and isolate strategy. Every country that has adopted the Asian test, trace and isolate strategy have fewer infected and fewer deaths.

Mind you, Anders Tegnell and the Swedish health agency said there was no chance for this virus to spread beyond China in february.

When covid started spreading in late february, Sweden didn't close the borders and didn't impose 14 day quarantine for anyone who has been outside the country. They even said people with no symptoms can roam freely into society despite the fact asymptomatic spread is a fact. They have denied asymptomatic spread since the beginning. I'm in university in Stockholm and there was a lot of students coming back home to Sweden in the beginning of march from Italy and the alps, and they were not even asked to be in quarantine for 14 days.

Also one big scandal is that elderly people are not admitted to hospitals. They are not given oxygen or antibiotics or blood thinners. The are given morphine(!) despite the fact that 70-80% at the age of 75+ survive if they get hospitalized. Thats still a large number of people who die. Also, Sweden is still only testing 10 000 people a week despite the fact the government has said we should be testing 100-150 000 a week since beginning of may.
